Daschle Knew Of Tax Issues, Didn't Tell Obama Team
The New York Times reports that Tom Daschle knew this past June about his failure to pay taxes on a car and driver provided to him by a private equity firm, but did not disclose it to the Obama team until weeks after the vetting process and the announcement of his cabinet appointment. A Daschle spokesperson said that he didn't inform people about it because he didn't yet know how the owed amount really was -- $128,000, plus interest -- and he thought an accountant was taking care of it.

WaPo: Daschle Confirmation Depends On Senate Comity
The Washington Post reports that Tom Daschle's confirmation as Secretary of Health and Human Services now hinges on his close personal connections to Senators with whom he formerly served. For example, the Post mentions Daschle's friendship with Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), who has not yet commented on Daschle's troubles -- and who voted against Tim Geithner because of his tax issues.

Obama Hosting Bipartisan Super Bowl Party At White House
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are hosting a Super Bowl Party at the White House tonight, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. The guest-list of four Senators and 11 House members is made up of mostly Democrats, but there are a few Republicans: Sen. Arlen Specter (PA), Rep. Charlie Dent (PA), Rep. Trent Franks (AZ), and Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI).

Biden Hosting Super Bowl Party, Too
Vice President Biden and his wife Jill are hosting their own Super Bowl Party tonight at the Naval Observatory. The six Senators and four House members on the official guest-list are all Democrats.

McConnell: Gregg Would Be Replaced By A Republican
Appearing today on Face The Nation, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell predicted that a Republican would be appointed to fill Judd Gregg's seat if he becomes Commerce Secretary. "Senator Gregg has told me that if he were to take this appointment, it would not alter the makeup of the Senate in terms of the majority and the minority," said McConnell, implying that some sort of deal has been made with New Hampshire's Dem Governor John Lynch.

GOP Governors Want Stimulus Money
The Associated Press reports that most Republican governors are breaking form the Congressional GOP's opposition to the stimulus bill, and are asking the Senate to pass the bill. This dichotomy is best expressed by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal -- he said he would accept the money as governor, but would have voted against the bill if he were still in the House.

Hillary's Debt Down To $5.9 Million -- Mostly To Mark Penn
Hillary Clinton's campaign debt has now been whittled down to $5.9 million, down from highs of over $20 million -- and $5.4 million of it is owed to Mark Penn's consulting firm, with the rest of it to four smaller vendors. The Hatch Act prevents Hillary from directly raising cash as Secretary of State, though others would be able to raise money on her behalf.

Obama To Alfalfa Club: Robert E. Lee Would Be Very Confused
President Obama spent last night at the Alfalfa dinner, telling jokes to the elite Washington social club. "I know that many you are aware that this dinner began almost one hundred years ago as a way to celebrate the birthday of General Robert E. Lee." said Obama, according to released excerpts. "If he were here with us tonight, the General would be 202 years old. And very confused."

Forget Judd Gregg, Obama to Put Entire House GOP in the Cabinet
http://satiricalpolitical.com/?p=5860

user-pic

Keep this quote from Jindal-it's a gem to beat him with if he tries to run in 2012.
I'll take your money, but I am philosophically opposed to it?! Really? ?!! These guys are truly idiots and have no future in running our government.

user-pic

While it's ridiculous on the first take, it isn't hypocritical at all, as Jindal in congress would be hoping to mold a better bill (ie less spending, more tax cuts) that he feels would be better for the States. However with that not going to happen he's not going to turn away the money doled out. WOuld he rather have a GOP plan giving him money - yes, but that is not an option now.

user-pic

Technically Kerry's "I was for it before I was against it" line makes sense too. It still didn't help him much.

user-pic

Oh, please. It's an absurd and indefensible comment. The Republicans on the Sunday shows today were saying, in effect, that no stimulus (i.e., direct spending by the goverment) is required. Their constant argument is that tax cuts, of "putting more money in peoples' pockets" are the only stimulus we need.

What Jindal is arguing is that he wouldn't vote to send money to Louisiana, but that he will accept money that is sent. It's hyposcrisy in the extreme.

Republicans are, at their core, unprincipled liars and hyprocites. you'll hurt yourself trying to twist their words into an honest argument.

user-pic

So governors are in favor of the package that not a single Republican voted for. Hey, Boehner, how's that strategy working out for you?

Governors, who have to be re-elected by the entire state...

O/T: Is anyone else having problems commenting?

user-pic

Daschle is in trouble. Paging Doctor Dean...

A RINO would still be a Republican. So even though the Dem's don't get their 60th seat, they'll get somebody more open to working in a bi-partisan manner. I'd rather get a Democrat choice for Commerce given the control of the census in 2010. What are Gregg's qualifications that put's him at the top of the list now that the main qualification of being replaced by a Democrat is off the table?

user-pic

Daschle will be confirmed, probably with a few less votes than Geithner.

user-pic

Disagree. No other nominee with the problems Daschle has would survive confirmation, but being voted Senate Majority Leader by the members of your caucus -- the same people who will vote whether or not to confirm him as HHS Secretary -- counts for a lot. Also, many member's of Daschle's Senate staff, including his former Chief of Staff Pete Rouse, have high-level positions in the Obama White House.

Republicans know picking a fight over Dashcle is picking a fight with the entire White House and with Harry Reid and the entire Democratic caucus. Republicans know that fighting Dashcle means blowing up comity in the Senate.

user-pic

What are you disagreeing with me about? We both think Daschle will be confirmed.

Republicans won't pick a fight with Daschle; many of them will just vote against him. They have no choice since they had a cow over Geithner's taxes.

user-pic

Daschle will be confirmed, but Obama should hold the door for him as he boots his out. Daschle brings nothing of value to the administration that wouldn't be brought by any number of much more honest and adept people. Going ahead with Daschle makes a mockery of Obama.

user-pic

Daschle has been with Obama from the beginning--when nobody thought he had a chance. He's given him staff, strategy and untold hours.

Daschle made $5 million in 2007; he's willing to give that up for $200K a year. You don't turn your back on somebody like that because of a screw-up.

user-pic

What Daschle did wasn't screwing up, it was illegal evasion of income taxes. If Daschle is worthy of the office he will withdraw in order to devote more time to his family, who have been without his attentions long enough now. This is supposed to be about our country and President Obama, not about Daschle.

user-pic

This is BS, hoppy. If your employer GIVES you something, then the employer is supposed to report it on your tax statement at the end of the year. This employer did not--and then happened to notice that another $83,000 was left off.

If this was YOU and YOUR employer left off payments (in kind or in cash) made to you, would you view this as your fault? And even your damned accountant thought it was all cool--or are you accusing him/her of being a crook?

user-pic

Excellent point re: the Census. I would hope to God Obama would explore that subject thoroughly before hiring Gregg. The Census is crucial to future politics, and has been skewed to help the rich forever.

Personally I find Obama's bias so far toward bigshot legislators for executive positions somewhat troubling. I'm pretty confident he has both skillsets, but that doesn't mean they do.

user-pic

Dear Hillary,

Please stiff Mark Penn. Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Xantar

user-pic

Co-sign.

user-pic

co-sign!

user-pic

If I were Obama I would be a little ticked off right now about Daschle.

user-pic

Undoubtedly. He knew about the problem, but failed to notify Obama promptly. Today's Times raised the question of how good the Obama vetting team was. So Daschle is now creating two problems for Obama: an obstacle to confirmation, and issues about competency in the Obama Administration.

Thanks, Tom.

I'm hoping Harkin at least isn't a hypocrite on this, and publicly voices his dissatisfaction with Daschle.

user-pic

Ct Voter says:

"Undoubtedly. He knew about the problem, but failed to notify Obama promptly."

That should disqualify Daschle.

user-pic

Not when Tom Daschle was the one who encouraged Obama to run for President in the first place. Not when much of Daschle's Senate staff, including his former chief of staff, is on the WH Staff.

Having Obama cut Daschle loose is like George Bush cutting Karl Rove loose. It's not gonna happen.

user-pic

I think Obama's vetting team trusted folks not to lie, given they realize they'll face confirmation hearings. Obama has also been close to Daschle for years, used a lot of his staffers and Daschle was front and center on his campaign. Maybe he just didn't think Daschle was stupid enough to play games with taxes.

I don't think this is going to be easy as Geithner, as Geithner had bi-partisan support going into the confirmation hearings and really nobody lining up to rally support against him. Big Pharm and health insurance lobbies will be working against Daschle's confirmation here, and I worry that in order to get confirmed he might make handshake deals with certain senators.

Didn't Obama give Daschle two titles? Did both roles need Senate confirmations? What about naming a new HHS and leaving Daschle as the health czar?

user-pic

Obama eliminated the "war on terror" phrasing. I wonder if he could stop creating posts with titles ending in "czar"?

I liked the "Paging Dr. Dean" idea.

user-pic

Co-sign on all points. I find the czar thing particularly troubling. Don't people remember who the czar's were? They were mass murdering, bloodthirsty dictators. That term should be struck from any government position. It really is mindboggling.

I'd add do away with the term "homeland security" as well. It sounds so naziish.

user-pic

In any other country, "Homeland Security" = "Secret Police" and the words would strike fear in your heart. Only in America does it = "Unwieldly Bureaucratic Hodgepodge of Agencies Whose Combination, in Hindsight, Isn't Really a Good Idea" and the words strike eye rolling annoyance into your heart.

user-pic

Not to lie? Do you get a tax statement at the end of each year detailing your income from a particular employer? Do YOU believe it or not? Understand that Dashcle got such a statement and paid taxes based on it....now we discover that the employer did NOT include on the statement the value of the car and chaffeur and apparently left off a $83,000 payment.

When is the last time YOU kept your pay stubs and added them all up to make sure what your employer gave you was right?

Look, if you don't understand money statements, fine. But learn about them before making the assumption that "lies" occurred. For all we know it was a software glitch.

user-pic

Regarding the rumored Gregg/Gov. Lynch deal, only the Democrats would make a deal that would cause them to pass up a chance at 60 votes in the Senate.

I see no use in Obama giving this Cabinet position to a Republican if we don't get the Senate seat. In this instance, Obama may be carrying this bi partisan thing too far.

user-pic

Two points,

1. gregg is far up in the republican leadership and it coopts a republican senate leader. Also, he is supremely smart, knows the budgetary process and washington. He is more than qualified and it would be good to get a republican senate leader in the cabinet and speaking for the obama administration.

2. What was once an iffy seat in 2010 looks much, much better with a republican appointee who was only in the senate for two years. Also, the appointee gets pushed back to the end of the line on assignments.

Sounds like a win, win for obama. Shrewd political move once again. The man is a political genius. He slices and dices with a smile on his face. Before you know it, you are screwed.

user-pic

Michael,

so we cede gaining a possible two years of filibuster proof Senate.

user-pic

My point is that it is a win, win if there is a deal to appoint a republican, which I suspect that there is. Obviously, a dem would be better, but then gregg would probably not take the appointment.

Also, the magical 60 is not all that magical in any event. There are enough republicans to peel off to stop a filibuster on most issues anyway.

user-pic

Yep. I would think that the place-holder senator, a former Gregg staffer, would be a likely "peel-off" candidate come filibuster time.

user-pic

I agree with you. Obama saves Gregg from extinction in 2010 only to have Gregg insure that he's not replaced by a Democrat.

Obama should not accept any such deal. There are tons of other people who could be commerce secretary. Everybody knows it's where you put the people you owe favors to but who are too inept to get any other position.

user-pic

I think daschle should forget about it. This really looks awful. I am not happy about geitner, but it is more understandable than what daschle did. This really smells awfully bad.

user-pic

Daschle is not going to step aside. Obama doesn't want him to do that because it would signal weakness on his part.

The minute Clinton started caving on his cabinet secretaries, the Repugs smelled blood. If there was even a hint of a problem, they would make noises about causing trouble and Clinton drop his original choice a wimp. He had promised a position to his longtime friend Peter Adelman but dropped him when republicans said they didn't like Adelman. For the next eight years, Clinton kow-towed to the Rs before making a move. Still didn't keep them from impeaching him.

Obama is probably furious at Daschle for not telling him but he's not going to back down because (a) he genuinely likes the guy and thinks he's perfect for the job and (b) it would establish a horrible precedent.

To paraphrase Jack Woltz in the Godfather: Obama ain't no bandleader!

user-pic

He should step aside. The republicans aren't harping on it by the way. Blockhead kyl even punted this morning on the issue. Before it gets any traction, daschle should fuggetaboutit.

By the way, doesn't kyl kind of look like a nasty herman munster?

user-pic

Not gonna happen. Shouldn't happen. Even if Obama decides he no longer wants Daschle, he should get him confirmed for a while, then fire him.

Withdrawing a nomination at this point (post-senate hearings, etc) paints a big red target on Obama's back.

user-pic

There haven't been any senate hearings yet on daschle. The tax issue just broke. Daschle can fall on his sword and it won't make obama look bad by any means.

user-pic

Daschle had his hearings weeks ago, on the same day Hillary had hers. Perhaps that's why you don't recall them.

user-pic

Really? I actually don't recall them. My bad.

user-pic

Hey, he and the others got ZERO attention that day. You know Cable news.

user-pic

Glenn Greenwald has a great piece slamming Dashel, and on more then his tax issues. Did you know he lobbied for the new FISA bill, and that his wife, as FAA administrator under clinton worked:

"to reduce safety inspections of an air-charter company owned by a family friend," one which, in 1993, "crashed in a snowstorm in Minot, North Dakota, killing the pilot and three doctors on their way to a reservation clinic" (after numerous accusations of serious wrongdoing, an Inspector General report cleared her of wrongdoing)".

user-pic

Wait. Lindsey Daschle is being nominated for HHS secretary??

user-pic

Daschle has a hell of a lot more problems than just income tax! To put it in a nutshell, he's nothing more than "slimy piece of sh*t"...similar to many of Obama's Cabinet appointments!!

So, for all of you Obama apologists and laptop dogs read Greenwald's column for yourself:

http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/

user-pic

What's a laptop dog?

I'm familiar with laptops, and lap dogs, but laptop dog is a new one.

Color me stunned that Glenn Greenwald is critical of something some Democrat, anywhere, is doing.

user-pic

A dog that sleeps on a laptop?

user-pic

A dog that uses a laptop to post rants like mstar57?

user-pic

Yes...I bet you are stunned along with a severe case of absolute stupidity! But, hey just relax, and continue to keep those eyes squeezed tightly shut! And, by the way, I hear they are holding auditions for "Obama's Cheerleading Squad" all day tomorrow somewhere in the D.C. area, but for the life of me I can't tell you the exact location. However I'm confident you already know where it is and will certainly be the FIRST in line....

user-pic

I hear they're handing out pesticides suppositories to kill that bug up your ass about anything Obama-related at the corner of Piss & Ant.

Run along. You can meet up with your friends Limbaugh, Savage, Krugman, Greenwald and Steve Labonne and have one big circle jerk!

user-pic

And just keep using those exclamation points! They're really convincing!

user-pic

Very funny! I didn't pick up on that! Thanks!

user-pic

Wow! You sure told me! I don't know how to reply! But you still haven't told me what a laptop dog is!

"Obama's Cheerleading Squad"! That's a funny one! Wow!

Barney Frank finally "goes there" when a Conservative attacks the stimulus package spending (from Huffpo - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/01/barney-frank-you-wanna-ta_n_162907.html)

In the public debate over the stimulus package, Democrats have found themselves largely on the defensive -- forced, at first, to explain the inclusion of business tax cuts at the Obama administration's behest, then asked to justify spending provisions that drew Republican ire.

On Sunday, Rep. Barney Frank did his best to flip those dynamics, playing a card that has largely -- somewhat surprisingly -- gone unused: the war in Iraq.

From his exchange on ABC's This Week with Sen. Jim DeMint:

DeMint: Let's not say it's a stimulus when it's a government spending plan. All of the things, the needs in our society, education, these are things we debate every year.

Frank: Spending can be stimulus. I don't understand.

DeMint: It's the largest spending bill in history and we're trying to call it a stimulus.

Frank: The largest spending bill in history is going to turn out to be the one in Iraq. If we're going to talk about spending, I have a problem when we leave out that extraordinary expensive, damaging war in Iraq, which has caused much more harm than good in my judgment. I don't understand from my conservative friends, building a road, building a school, helping to get health care, that's wasteful spending. But that war in Iraq, that's going to cost us over a trillion dollars, yeah, I wish we hadn't done that we would have been in a lot better shape fiscally.

There are differing opinions over just how much foreign wars have contributed to the current state of the economy. From a strictly numerical standpoint, the cost of Iraq constitutes a small portion of the GDP.

But the argument Frank makes is that in the context of chiding government spending, self-purported fiscal conservatives should not be entitled to selective memory. So when George Stephanopoulos jumped in to say the issue could be fodder for "a whole other show," the Massachusetts Democrat had none of it.

"That's the problem," said Frank. "The problem is we look at spending and say don't spend on highways or health care. Let's builds weapons to defeat the Soviet Union when we don't need them. Let's have hundreds of billions of dollars going to the military without a check. Unless everything is on the table, then you are going to have a disproportionate hit in some places."

This is exactly how it should be framed and attacked going forward. Everytime a Republican brings up spending billions on American roads and schools, ask them why it's okay to spend that kind of money on Iraq roads and schools? Ask them why it was okay to spend $10B a month in Iraq, but then it's like pulling teeth to spend that kind of money in America.

If America never went to war with Iraq that $1T spend there would have looked awful nice being spent in America, and in reality America wouldn't be any less safe. Considering how Iraq and Iran kept each other in check, it could be argued we'd be more safe.

user-pic

Jonze,

did you catch DeMint saying (paraphrase)

'Obama wants to spend a trillion dollars to create 4 million jobs. The Heritage Foundation said if you keep the one trillion in the economy you creat 18 million jobs.'

First, I have no idea what he means by "keeping the one trillion in the economy", second, he should have been made to defend that Heritage bullshi*.

user-pic

I think he meant if you gave $3,333 cash to every man, woman and child and let them spend it wherever they wish.

Of course that isn't going to fix the infrastructure that desperately needs repairing. I mean how much money would have been saved if the levees were strengthened with government spending. No government ever wants to spend money on infrastructure because citizens don't see it and take it for granted. That is until bridges collapse or levees fail...

user-pic

I was happy to see Frank also push back on ideology. For once we had a Democrat who didn't apologize for supporting public spending for the common good. That is absolutely essential. We have to put the conservatives on notice that they are playing on our turf now and we will be bullied no longer. (Of course, we may have to send the Blue Dogs to Guantanomo to make this happen).

user-pic

Daschle's tax problems won't have traction with the public so the GOP won't get an "issue". He will be confirmed.

My, my, so McConnell has confirmed that Gregg has worked a deal with the NH governor? Seems that McConnell doesn't want Gregg to take that cabinet post and that he wants to smear the governor. This hasn't hit the public's concern yet--but if Gregg is appointed, I suspect that governor is gonna be talking about how no one made a deal and that false accusations from the likes of McConnell go far beyond "politics as usual".

This is too good. Some of you need to settle right down and enjoy the show instead of getting your knickers all twisted up so frequently. Obama is doing great.

user-pic

>>Daschle's tax problems won't have traction with the public so the GOP won't get an "issue". >>

I disagree. Daschle's problems do have traction. Even liberals are angry about this. Just read HuffPo, for example. His problem is more egregious than Geithner's.

But he will still be confirmed. He's a former senator.

user-pic

Liberals, progressives and Democrats better gird for the fight and recognize when the powerful interest groups are taking potshots abd fight back correctly without this miserable caving in.

Get rid of Daschle? BS. These are the same interest group who have put together a tax code that fits in over 25 big volumes. When Business Week sends out a case for tax preparation to a bunch of CPA's, there are mistakes in every damned one of them. Our tax code is brought to you by these interest groups. And apparently Daschle thought his CPA was taking care of things and they thought otherwise.

Let's not drown out McCaskill talking about idiots with this sort of thing. There is not equivalency.

And Americans sure will understand that they used to be able to fill out their tax returns themselves and now it's so damned complicated the big majority have to have someone else complete it--and it's not always accurate even then.

It's tax time. Folks understand this sort of thing if it's explained correctly.

These interest groups are reaching out in the hope of finding some sticky stuff. There's no reason to help them along and every sort of reason to stop them in their tracks with a bit of cool logic, Obama-style.

user-pic

I suspect that governor is gonna be talking about how no one made a deal and that false accusations from the likes of McConnell go far beyond "politics as usual

Great catch. McConnell should have kept silent.

user-pic

I do not agree with McConell. He has no idea what the Governor of New Hampshire will select. Since he is a Dem, it seems he will select a Dem, since he is a Dem and New Hampshire voted heavily for Obama, I think the replacement will not be a Republican.

user-pic

Here are two well-respected NH Republicans Lynch could appoint. They both endorsed Obama!

Liz Hager and John Hutson. Hager describes herself as very pro-choice and very pro-government. She's more liberal than Snowe or Collins.

Here's Hutson endorsing Obama. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKFxNLy8WU4

Obama would be thrilled and while the republicans would have another republican in the senate, they would essentially get another Lincoln Chaffee!

user-pic

FR, I usually agree with you. But you're just wrong on this one. Obama is the de facto head of the Democratic Party; he would certainly not be "thrilled" with the appointment of a Republican Senator by a Democratic governor.

I would expect a Democratic governor to appoint a Democratic Senator and so would Obama. There doesn't have to be any phone calls about that issue--it's simply understood.

Know any Democrats in NH who endorsed Obama and would be a good fit?

user-pic

I'm not saying that it's OK for this Dem governor to appoint a republican. I wish he would appoint a Democrat. I'm sure Obama wants him to appoint a Democrat. But . . .

there's all this talk that he will appoint a Republican and the Repubs are saying they have Gregg's word that a Repub will take his place. If that is indeed the case, then it would great if the repubs are essentially Democrats. These two will be far more reliable liberal votes than the two Nelsons and the two senators from Arkansas.

Also, if all Obama cared about was the R or D next to a person's name, we wouldn't be having this discussion because Gregg would not be under consideration for Commerce Secretary.

user-pic

Talk, schmalk. This comes from the Republicans who are sweating bullets at the idea that Gregg would bail and the magic 60 would be reached.

user-pic

I think this is what The Obama Administration is counting on, even if they don't know for sure. In the very least it will be a more moderate or centrist Republican. Sen. Gregg currently sits 10th in GOP Senate seniority and normally wouldn't think leaving if it wasn't for the fact he's in for a do fight in 2010 and will probably lose his seat. This way he gets to leave with his head held high and doesn't have to go through the election headaches for the next two years.

I still believe there is a possibility that Gregg is using this possibility with plans on turning it down, but using it to run on in 2010. President Obama thought I was good enough for his Cabinet, that should be good enough for the NH Dems.

user-pic

Oh, come on! After watching Obama for two years, do you really think he would let this story stay out there for days if Gregg hadn't already accepted? Whenever an untrue rumor starts to get out of control, Obama slaps it down.

If Gregg let Obama think he would take the job and openly reject him, he would be in deep do do. Look at Gregg's voting record this congress. He's voted with the Dems wayyyyy more than usual.

Also, there's zero political currency in saying "I almost got a job in the administration." What doofus would vote for somebody because they were offered a job two years earlier.

user-pic

Well I think it benefits Obama as well with all the coverage that he could add another Republican to his cabinet at the same time as the GOP is beating their chest about voting down the stimulus.

user-pic
"Senator Gregg has told me that if he were to take this appointment, it would not alter the makeup of the Senate in terms of the majority and the minority,
What does this mean? Of course it wouldn't, because it's 59-41 now - so if it goes 60-40 it wouldn't alter the make-up in terms of who is majority and who is minority. It's not like it was a 50-50 split here.

user-pic

It means it wouldn't change the numbers for the majority or the minority.

user-pic

Dashle, the man from the health care industry,is lobbyist criminal #1. His wife, the women from Boeing, is number 2. Can them!

user-pic

It is interesting that Hillary's $13 million "loan" to her campaign has now been "forgiven." So it becomes the Clintons's personal contribution from a fortune built in large measure by mega-millions in huge "consulting and speaking fees" to Bill Clinton from foreign business interests. It would seem reasonable for the FEC to ask if the "loan" constitutes "pass through" funds from sources that cannot legally contribute to a campaign.

user-pic

Oh, STFU, will ya!

The Clintons tax returns show millions in *personal* income . . . income that they paid taxes on. Income they could have used to buy another house or a yacht. If she wanted to spend $13 million of it in an effort to become president, that's her business and 1/3 of what Romney spent.

Stop with the "I'm sure we can find something illegal about this if we turn sideways and salute the moon" BS.

user-pic

or the Bank of Kuwait could give Bill a few hundred thousand for a 20 min speech, and Bill loan it to Hillary's campaign. wink wink

user-pic

or the Bank of Kuwait could give Bill a few hundred thousand for a 20 min speech, and Bill loan it to Hillary's campaign. wink wink

user-pic

Mr. bill doesn't take a dump for a foreign entity for a few hundred thousand. Come on. Mr. bill could do a "speech" and wipe it out in two seconds. Incidentally, the speech isn't what they are buying as we all know.
