Tom DeLay Speaks
On "Radio Row" at the CPAC you'll find pols lined up to talk with conservative talk show hosts. After he stepped away from speaking with G. Gordon Liddy, TPM caught up with former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay about where the GOP is heading and should head:

Of all the republicans, this man scares me more than any of them. I think he is completely and utterly ruthless and immoral and would do anything to obtain and stay in power. I wish he would just fade away.

The GOP should head to whatever Valhalla is occupied by the Whig Party. And at the rate they're going, it shouldn't take too long, either.

Heh. What a fool.
The stuff he listed that the conservatives need is all tactical stuff: leadership, a communications org, coordination (read: less infighting), understanding how the Dem orgs do stuff.
Nothing of substance. Nothing about moving towards non-fringe values or reality-based positions on issues. It's all about how to re-mezmerize the sheep in to handing over their wallets.
Nah, he doesn't scare me. Any influence he has on the GOP will only further marginalize it.
His denial reminds me of Dusty Foggo's ambition to run for Cunningham's House seat.

Hey, Tommy the Crook, here's a message from the President of the United States for you and your cronies. "In other words, I know these steps won’t sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they’re gearing up for a fight as we speak. My message to them is this: So am I."
I know who I"m betting on in THAT fight. And it's not your gang, Tom.
