Twitter all you want. If your commentary doesn't show up in print here at TPM, I'm highly unlikely to pay attention to it.
Actually, during the press conference, I intend to be paying attention to what Obama says and how the press are treating him. I don't need talking heads or twittering pundits to tell me what I can see and hear for myself.
The silence is deafening.
Twittering: Like liveblogging, only impossible to follow. Lou Dobbs is on the television for some reason, I guess?
Watching Ray LaHood defend stimulus on Lou Dobbs. Good surrogate. No wonder prez added a Caterpillar factory stop in LaHood's Peoria. Smart.
What?! Just hours ago, alarmist TPM commenters were demanding LaHood be fired.
Man the guy can sure give a speech. When he is on fire he is amazing. Ten times better than the b-movie actor. I'm twittering by the way, whatever that means. I guess I am too old to be as tech savy as Mr. Cooper.
Oh, my God! This guy is good. He is so honest and straight forward. He speaks to americans like they have some intelligence. Unbelievable. I just hope that americans are listening. He sounds like a teacher. Unbelievable.
Second question is Iran, c'mon. The economy is kind of a big deal.
In the beginning, on the trail, I'd feel a little nervous when Obama gave impromptu interviews and unprepared remarks.
I'm amazed how well he has progressed. His maturity is staggeringly refreshing.
What a dickish question on "underestimating..." I have a feeling much of the questions will focus on the horse race.
Chuck Todd, God bless his heart, sometimes ask questions that arent thought out.
He is graying big time already. He's only been in office two weeks and if you compare pictures from two years ago and now, the difference is staggaring. On the one hand, I feel sorry for him, on the other hand, God we need him right now. I pray every day for him. I know it sounds like worshiping, but we are in such bad shape, I just hope that he can pull it off. He really is incredibly intelligent and can simply explain it for the people.
Amen, I say a prayer everynight too. He is really putting it down in plain english for everyone!
Amen! Talk about a great communicator. The b-movie actor doesn't hold a candle to this guy. Amazing.
Republicans are so screwed. All the time they spent trying to undermine this package, wiped away in one press conference. This is what's going to happen time after time. They can either go along, or look like fools. He's too intelligent for any of them.
WTF, we are in an incredible economic crisis and our foreign policy is in the toilet and we have a question about photographing flag drapped coffins? His answer was awesome by the way.
More pathetic was A Rod. Really? Does anyone take MLB seriously anways? And I'd like to know how Biden came up with the 30%. He's certainly for comic relief among several other useful things.
True.
By the way, can we have another press conference tomorrow? He really is amazing.
At least once a week?
We should start circulating a new amendment banning two terms for the president.
I have never witnessed anything like this in my lifetime. I'm old and I have never seen anything like this. He is answering the questions, being honest and not playing politics. Somebody pinch me. I must be dreaming.
Duh, overturning the two term limit for the president. I'm so excited that I can't type.
Huffpo Stein has the best non-economy question and also happens to be BO's weakers and fuzziest response.
Bush had a "punchier answer" on something? Here is the wrath, you are a fool.
Obama sure likes to hear himself talk. That was about 20 minutes too long and whomever asked the Alex Rodriguez question should be kicked off the presidential detail.
Huh? the chatter box says he didn't say enough all last week...am I missing something?
He did give a slow, thoughtful and long answers. But at no point it seemed like a drag.
It's called "intellect", something that has been completely lacking the past 8 years in the WH. I strongly suggest you try it. Personal attacks without substance are so Republican. That's one reason why they lost so bad in November.
BTW, all Presidential news conferences are scheduled for an hour. Obama was right on the mark. Your cheap, uninformed shot speaks volumes about your intellect or lack there of. Seriously.

Risking wrath of all TPM readers, I think Bush had punchier answer when asked about steroids. You can begin stoning me at any time. 10 minutes ago
I'm too confused to be angry. What does this even mean?! STOP USING TWITTER AND START USING INDEFINITE ARTICLES AGAIN.
Is it really called the Fatah region?
I pasued a minute as well..I might have thought Fatah region was more close to the Middle East than in Afghan/Pakistan region...but I guess I don't know enough to think anything accurate.
The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in Pakistan are areas outside the four provinces bordering Afghanistan, comprising a region of some 27,220 km² (10,507 sq mi). The other areas of Pakistan also outside the provinces are Azad Kashmir, Islamabad Capital Territory, and the Northern Areas.
Obama was strong and direct. Good answers that should appeal and reassure those of all stripes.
Republicans should be scared, Obama is in full campaign mode- making too much sense.
Totally agree 1000%. They should be afraid, very afraid. Can we have a press conference every night?
My impression of Chuck Todd has gone downhill ever since he took his new job.
Too many shallow questions- I just heard him say "it was one week too late," for the press conference. Huh?
I agree, Obama may have preempted some of the raucous, may be he could have used a pulpit a little earlier, but too late?
Does Chuck even know this is like the third or fourth week of this presidency? And we're still in the thick of the stimulus debate.
Chuck should stick at the department of statistic at NBC, I reckon.
Our president was VERY impressive. The whole communication except for some stupid questions actually made sense. How refreshing.
Also, I think this was well timed. Very reassuring to someone like me who feels the original bill was murdered in the Senate.
Here's hoping on the conference committee- food stamps, education, science, and state spending, here we come!
Forget the content for just a minute. Now reflect on this presser compared to a Bush staged event. Now add the content and policy back into the thought process.
It must be very scary times to be a repug.
Just laying all the cards on the table, without reference to the smoking gun going to be a mushroom cloud scare tactics. Kind of refreshing!
By taking up almost exactly the full hour he really limited the talking heads ability to deconstruct everything he said, and instead allows folks to develop their own opinion on the presser.
Absolutely, that was part of the goal. He really is brilliant.
Ok, off topic, but f'n weird. The only republicans that did not vote in opposition were . . . . gregg, makes sense, and cornyn?????? WTF. That is really weird. Cornyn the mouthpiece of the republican opposition did not vote? Bizarre.
