Anti-Steele RNC Member Calls For His Resignation -- But Who Is She?

The Hill reports that Dr. Ada Fisher of North Carolina, one of three black RNC members, is circulating an e-mail among her fellow RNCers calling for Michael Steele to resign as chairman. But Fisher herself deserves a close examination, providing a very interesting look at just what sort of people make up the current GOP machinery and how it all works.

She was one of the documented Potemkin candidates of fundraising firm BMW Direct, which raised large amounts of money for GOP contenders in solidly-Democratic majority-minority districts, then kept almost all of it for themselves. As she said at the time, once the truth was revealed: "They sort of -- what shall I say? -- screwed me."

It also has to be noted -- which The Hill does -- that Fisher was a supporter of Steele's rival Katon Dawson during the chairmanship campaign, and even after Steele won she's been vocally criticizing him.

In an ominous sign, Fisher cites the danger of Steele having angered...Rush Limbaugh! "Limbaugh has already promised that 'His Conservatives' won't be giving to the RNC. I would suggest to you that that is a real bet," Fisher wrote. "If we can't raise money and continue to allow the alienation of the few varifiable (sic) red states remaining, we are foolish."

Fisher is also quite disgusted with Steele's public mannerisms: "I don't want to hear anymore (sic) language trying to be cool about the bling in the stimulus package or appealing to D.L. Hughley and blacks in a way that isn't going to win us any votes and makes us frankly appear to many blacks as quite foolish."

Clock's ticking, Mike... I'm loving how she cites the fact he's angered the mighty Lush as a reason, not the fact he curled up into the fetal position the instant the rotund one so much as farted in his general direction.

Nobody takes Ada Fisher seriously! Here in NC, she's a perpetual candidate. She challenges Mel Watt every election and loses worse each time. She's a disaster, not to mention very unattractive.

And, although she's black, she doesn't like black people very much. (How else can you explain her being a fan of Jesse Helms?) That's probably why she supported Katon Dawson and was angry that Steele got the position.

That said, I'm really enjoying this!

Steele Replaced By Men Of Steel?

It appears Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele may soon be replaced. In keeping with the RNC's "Bald is Beautiful/Ignorance is Bliss" strategy, its first choice for his replacement appears to be Joe (not his real name) the (unlicensed) Plumber.

Mr. Plumber may not be able to take the post immediately, however, due to prior book-tour commitments; at the rate of 3-5 books sold per city, the tour is likely to last well into the middle of the next decade or beyond if PearlGate Publishing has any hope of recouping its initial investment.

Never to be caught with their pants down, the RNC is reported to have another Republican heavy hitter in the on-deck circle, just in case. The back-up candidate, James Guckert aka Jeff Gannon, is reportedly available and ready to go to bat, escorting the party in a bold, new direction designed to get the GOP base oiled and pumped for the 2010 mid-term elections.

If Guckert/Gannon is chosen to replace Mr. Steele, he is likely to focus much attention on the race for Louisiana's 1st congressional district, currently held by Sen. David Vitter(R). Vitter is likely to be challenged for the seat by a fundamentalist Christian with no name recognition and a stripper named Stormy, in a contest that may well be decided in a Diaper Derby rather than a traditional election.

Clarification

Vitter's challengers, a fundamentalist Christian with no name recognition and a stripper named Stormy, are apparently two different people.

The Republican Party is the gift that keeps on giving.

Damn. At this rate, are we gonna have enough corn in storage to make popcorn for the rest of the winter and this coming spring?

well i suppose if it's their other token self hating black republican calling for him to quit, then it might improve the optics of firing their original token. that's got to count as at least a little bit of a silver lining to the implosion of this whole "we have a brown guy too" angle, that they've been trying to work.

Even though she's a nut, too, I agree with her last point. Michael Steele is quickly becoming the lawn jockey of the Right, and his attempts at "bein' down with the peeps" are downright embarrassing.

And that's coming from a Black nerd who went to private schools. If anyone would know, I would.

That woman is not relevant here in NC. She just wants a little pub. But Steele does need to man up and take his lunch money back from Rush who pulled a classic bully move...and is still rubbing Steele's face in it. My position wouldn't prevent me from gut punching that blowhard!

user-pic

I got scared for a second. If this woman had any credibility then other GOPers might get ideas..hopefully they'll stick with him at least until 2010 so we can get a few more Senate seats.
