Bachmann Hearkens To American Revolution, Calls On People To "Rise Up"

When I was transcribing Michele Bachmann's remarks on Sean Hannity's radio show from Wednesday, calling for an "orderly revolution" to save freedom from President Obama's Marxism, I somehow managed to miss what might have been the most inflammatory moment.

Go to the 7:55 mark:

We can never forget that the Founders were rebelling against a governmental authority that abused their taxation power. And that was the tyranny. That's exactly what's happening right now. And we have to -- we have to rise up and say, "No more. Not on my watch. No more."

Rising up and ranting is not an armed insurrection, particularly if we metaphorically consider Bachmann and her stormtroopers engaging in a battle of wits.

The critical point is the advocacy. It's a crime to advocate an armed uprising. You don't have to actually do it for it to be a crime. In addition, she is sworn to uphold the constitution as an elected official, which makes it even more troubling.

She wants the average tax payer to rise up in rebellion against taxes for the rich? Seriously?

at a minimum she is calling for an unamerican political approach to advocate violence as a means to a political end but she is really saying that she wants to overthrow the government that she is sworn to uphold its laws and constitution.

She should be held accontable to the degree anyone else would be..."Boner" should be made to denounce her views...an example must be made or someone will get hurt over this type of horrid speech...our country has a long history violence against Presidents!

You know, I feel like this. If some bunch of militia nuts starts an actual armed insurrection, and somehow incurs the institutional wrath of the US armed forces, and cites this lady's comments as inspiration, then doesn't she become a target much like the radical mullahs that give Al Qaeda its inspiration? This is a call to do harm to our country and her citizens.

Ask the last, oh, 9 or 10 AQ second-in-command types how well that works out once the good guys find out where to put rounds downrange. Oh, wait, you can't, they're either dead or in Cuba...

Ms. Bachmann, it's time to stop being a mouth-breathing moron. STFU and let the grownups fix the trainwreck you and people like you have caused our country to become over the last 8 years.

Honestly, she's like a hysterical banshee in a sophomore high school civics class...which leaves no possibility of having any rational, reasonable exchange of ideas or discourse. Really, she should just give up her seat, and go be a regular correspondent on Fox, or a perpetual guest on Rush's show...anything, just leave the American government alone.

This is pretty typical rhetoric from the Ron Paul/End the Federal Reserve types. These people are infiltrating the Republican party and are starting to get more of a voice. I have a friend that is one of these. They are incredibly energized. They talk about tyranny and liberty like true radicals, and Bachman has become one of their heroes.

So, if I understand this correctly, Ms. Bachmann feels that she is not providing representation despite her constituents' taxation, and would like to be removed from office?

The only other possible interpretation seems to have something to do with teabags.

Well, I am continually amazed by the GOP. How do they think we accumulated this debt? It's a natural consequence of their policies since the Gipper started making voodoo economics the national standard.

They knew that sooner or later the bill was going to come due for their policies. Now that we actually have to pay it, they've got an incredible amount of gall to complain that we're going to have to borrow to pay it. I suppose Ms Bachmann figures that we should reduce taxes to 0, which would raise government revenues to infinity and allow us to pay it off.
