DSCC Fundraising E-Mail: Republicans Are "Betting Against America"
Check out the opening line of this new fundraising e-mail from the DSCC, officially authored by DSCC chairman Bob Menendez, seeking to bring in some last-minute cash for the end of the quarter:
Dear Friend,
The Republicans think that betting against America is the way to beat us on Election Day. I know that betting on you is a surefire way to prove them wrong.

The Democrats are now running on flag-waving and running down the other guy's patriotism. What an amazing time we live in.

Personally I love it. Gives the republicans a taste of their own medicine and at the same time takes away one of their few effective weapons. Without their fearmongering, what do they have?
Step it up to "why do the republicans hate America?" and watch their heads explode.

The GOP (RNC I think) ran an ad this morning on CNN hanging AIG and bonuses on Obama
Conservatives for Patient's Rights just ran an ad on MSNBC - "Obama's throwing billions away at AIG. Now he wants to spend hundreds of billions depriving you of quality health care"

The big difference being that there are actually recordings of major GOP figures saying they want the President to fail which this line of attack is using as a pivot. The GOP used any generic disagreement with their plans as the basis for their anti-America framing.
If the dems were really adopting the device as a philosophy, they would probably be framing Krugman as un-American. Seems most critics think him some variation of media-whore.
