DSCC Spokesman: "I Applaud" Coleman For Creativity In Wanting Election Thrown out
DSCC communications director Eric Schultz just sent TPM this statement in response to the Coleman legal team's suggestion that the election court throw out the whole election result:
"I'm sure Senator John McCain would like to throw out the results of November 4, 2008 as well. I applaud the Coleman campaign for their candor: at least after five weeks in court the Coleman camp is admitting they lost the election, and I also applaud them for their creativity - maybe next they'll suggest aliens from Mars come down to make Norm Coleman Senator again - because that's as far-fetched as asking for a revote when you lose an election. If Senator Coleman wants a revote, he can have one: in 2014 when Senator Franken's first term expires."

Eric just started at the DSCC and will be a great voice for the upcoming elections. He helped turn things around for Franken. Its good to see that the Dems are getting sick of this. Maybe the people of Minnesota will catch on!!!

Wasn't Coleman the guy that wanted Franken to concede when the initial numbers (sans absentee ballots) showed him up by less than 300 votes? They will push the legal challenges to the limit until MN gets its rear end in gear and say "it is enough". Let Franken be seated temporarily and the Coleman group can exhaust their challenges. Otherwise this can go on for years. There was a formal setup which is exhausted and either the Coleman group prove they were cheated on the recount or get out of the way.

Well now we got Franken's arguments.. then once it's over, the apeals process.. So i'm guessing sometime this summer Franken will be seated?

I think that Coleman should give up and just morph into the role of a local pub patron upon whose entrance the rest of the bar's denizens shout "Norm!!" That would cheer the rest of us up, I'm certain.
