GOP Leader Expects Goolsbee and Rouse to be Confirmed This Week
President Obama's science adviser and NOAA nominee aren't the only ones getting held up by mysterious Senate Republican concerns.
As Bloomberg reported on Friday, two nominees to join Obama's Council of Economic Advisers -- Austan Goolsbee and Cecilia Rouse -- have also stalled amid anonymous GOP objections.
But that delay could come to an end as soon as this week, according to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). He told reporters today that "we're going to have a discussion of the nominees" and "they probably will be confirmed later this week."

McConnell's smile always cracks me up--like he's done something naughty and isn't about to tell you about it.

Stalled for no reason. Jeez, who are they talking about when "distractions" arise?

Is it just a coincidence that the blockage on goolsbee/rouse is clearing just as Freeman gets dropped?

It would be great if President Obama could get his entire team approved and in place. But the GOP's "unknown objectionists" are going to be put under a bright stoplight soon...as they are putting pressure on Geitner, but are they holding up giving him staff to work with?
As the media has decided that Pres. Obama will not be given the infamous 100 days, they are ready to be critical at "50 days". They should be noting the GOP hold-up of these nominees if they are going to be "fair"!
