I can't believe I'm doing this, but here goes.

I watched the clip, and I was taken more by the "holding hands" part than the "praying with" part--in other words, I thought she was joking about how there wasn't anyone that she really wanted to hold hands with and pray, and not that there really wasn't anyone she wanted to pray with.

Maybe that's a meaningless distinction, but that's what I took from it.

She did pray (with Piper). Whenever there are two or more of you praying together ... did God answer her prayer? Maybe the answer was NO.

She's going to get eaten alive in the GOP primary in 2012.

Is it me or is her voice pitched so that it is impossible to listen to? The only other voice I have heard that is so reliably irritating is from some Chinese entertainment programs. Maybe Alaska is close enough to China that the influence has rubbed off on her?
On a serious note, what are the Republican Party organizers thinking with their selection of speakers for their events--Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, and Caribou Barbie as keynoters? The Democratic majority will be closer to permanent than the Republicans ever dreamed theirs could be.

The Alaska GOP hates Palin? They must, to post the speech in its entirety. LOL.

in my state (AZ), Janet Napolitano was so formidable an opponent when running for re-election to the governor's office, that the GOP (in the state of Barry Goldwater!) had to go to the FOURTH-STRING to find somebody willing to be the sacrificial lamb and ran Len Munsil, Arizona's answer to Sarah Palin (think Palin with some brains and no skirt and no election experience as a candidate).

He got creamed by Janet, the AP called the election 5 minutes after the polls close.

If Obama and Geithner get the economy into a recovery by 2012, I would not be surprised if Palin ends up as the nominee for the same reasons.

I understand where she's coming from..I wouldn't hold hands and pray with a Palin supporter either.

Great, just what the GOP needs to make a comeback. Another god-botherer politician who thinks they have a hotline to God.

What strikes me is noteworthy is not merely that her universe is populated by two kinds of people -- those worth praying with and those not -- but that the purpose of prayer is completely utilitarian and narcissistic. "Thy will be done"? Not so much. It's a power-up mechanism that will push her over the top.

Who would want to hold hands with Caribou Barbie? God only knows where those hands have been! ;-)

I do wonder if she meant it more in a "These folks are so mean to little old me!" way.

Not that they were insufficiently faithful-after all, it took an awful lot of naive faith in a higher power to select her in the first place-but that they didn't treat her as the smart, powerful woman she believes she is.

She's never exactly been known for her fine phrasing, after all:

Is there anybody a true christian should say "I don't want to pray with them"?

Jaysus would tell her that even the least among them...and so on...and that they are the ones who need the prayer and your attention the most.

On a totally unrelated note, she is already running out of Fresh Date. She won't be a hottie in 4 or 8 years. So a large part of her cache is slipping away every day.

It may be just me, but doesn't this seem kind of high-schoolish? The prom queen doesn't want to hang with the geeks and freaks, and they resent it . . .

I think if anybody was praying it was McCain's staff who were probably making bargains with God (or maybe the devil) if she just wouldn't make a fool of them all during the debate. Most bizarre debate I have ever seen, I hope she runs in 2012 just so we can see her debate the Republican candidates. See if they are as lenient with her as Biden had to be.

This is typical of this "know nothing" Republican. Can anyone out there imagine that this person could possibly be Vice President or a Presidential candidate? This kind of stuff make Rush look like an intellectual.

It was all a misunderstanding. She couldn't find anyone because they thought she was looking for prey.

Let's see if I get this correct: She didn't feel anyone else was WORTHY of holding hands with and joining her in prayer? From a follower of Christ, who "palled around" with lepers & prostitutes? This, from a woman with a bastard grandchild, a traitorous husband (secession IS treason), who is greedy and lets the less-fortunate feather her nest with expe3nsive clothes, fancy trips & luxury hotels, who charges the taxpayers of Alaska for staying at her own house, who violated State & Federal privacy laws by snooping in her ex-brother-in-law's confidential worker's comp files, who set out on a vendetta against him. SHE couldn't find anyone "good enough" to pray with her?

When I saw the video I thought her comment was totally innocuous. So she didn't feel close enough to any of the staffers to hold hands with them? And this is somehow an insult?

I'm picturing a different scenario. I'm seeing Palin holding out her hand, eyes closed, looking up to the heavens, gettin' ready to, you know, pray. . .and the McCain staffers recoiling, whimpering "ewww. . .".
