Bachmann: "I Haven't Purposely Been Trying To Be Inflammatory"
In a new profile in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) takes the controversies surrounding herself in stride:
"I haven't purposely been trying to be inflammatory," she said in an interview last week. "I'm trying to just explain to the American people what's happening here in Washington, D.C."
Consider for a moment that this is the Congresswoman who has said the country is at the point of revolution, or that we have to decide whether we want to be free or want to be slaves. Just imagine if she were trying to be inflammatory.

She would need a can of gasoline to be more inflammatory.

We know, Michelle. You were just born that way.

Bachmann is very manipulative with her "misinformation"--she thrives on the attention that she is getting from the media...she has a 3 person staff that does her publicity in her office. That is unheard of on the hill....or it was when I worked there.
She is diabolical and too me, while it may seem hilarious to some, this woman is very, very dangerous because so many people are desparate because of job loss, the housing market, etc., that they don't feel hopeful about their futures and she appeals to the down and out who need someone to blame.
Bachmann is incapable of introspection because if she had any intelligence and intellectual honesty, she would know that what is going on now started with Reagan and began its escalation in 1981 and when Bush arrived in 2001, the match was lit and the gasoline was already in place.

Exactly. Not long ago Bachmann was a back-bencher who nobody ever heard of. Now, suddenly, she's in the news with some dipshit remark every day. She's the political equivalent of Paris Hilton.

Hey Man's Best Friend,
What do you have against Paris Hilton? I "used to despise" Paris, but I found she actually is relatively easy to ignore if one wants to, and people know that what comes out of her mouth is absent any value.
On the other hand, Bachmental (who happens to represent all the nutcases in my gerrymandered district) is about as coherent as Glenn Beck and Caribou Barbie, and even more dangerous since she has the title of Congressional Representative.
The fact that local people have told me, "you should be more respectful of our congressperson, and at least she's attractive" has left me choking back the vomit. People in this screwed-up district actually listen to her!
The latest B.S. about the re-education camps just about trumps it all. Especially since she's been busted for bringing in a bunch of evangelical brain-washers to local public high schools on the premise of anti-drug awareness, when in fact it was outright religious proselytizing.
I've read that some members of the psychiatric profession having been advocating taking a second look at Electro Shock Therapy - she'd be a great early candidate.

Yeah---she'd be a great candidate for Electro Shock Therapy... in the bathtub!

Amen... Am I the only one that's seeing a marked increase in reported national gun violence? People are losing their stability and responding by picking up a firearm. Just this morning there were at least two stories headlined at MSNBC.com...

To be expected, I suppose, when the volume of gun sales has skyrocketed. These loonies are convinced that the dastardly Obama is going to cut off their access to guns and ammunition and give all their money and property to the undeserving poor, so they're stocking up like there's no tomorrow. NPR had a story about it yesterday, in which a gun shop owner in San Antonio mentioned a 69-year-old woman who had called him to order a case of ammunition for her AK-47. Jimminy Christmas.

Michelle, you missed it. The revolution already happened. The rebels won. You lost. Feel free to move to Canada like the tories of old.

Canada's too socialist. She's waiting for Alaska to declare itself a republic under Caribou Barbie after which she'll seek asylum in Palind(r)om(e).

Well, that explains Palin's reference to "the sovereign state of Alaska" the other night.

Okay, I'm closing my eyes imagining her being intentionally inflammatory . . . imagining . . . imagining . . .
Nope. Imaginary intentionally inflammatory Michelle still sounds exactly the same to me as real Michelle.

OMG, what a fluff piece that was! It would seem that Mr. Diaz is a fan. The one bright spot was the "featured comment":

Michele, you obviously have no insight into your comments. Just because you don't intend them to be inflammatory doesn't mean they aren't!!

she is a idiot who message will only excite her base the neocons...I think she has a disabilty of being unable to understand the concept of facts and reality. Maybe TherP can give us a diagnosis sometime! treatment would not be recommended!

If the mother ship is actually in orbit around Deimos, then it is hardly "inflammatory" to let people know of it.

It's just the whole Republican "re-defining" things bit isn't it? In her narrow little mind, she's already redefined the word "inflammatory" to mean something other than what the rest of us use it for. Republicans can keep using this technique because our intrepid media will not call them on it.

Okay, the cat's out of the bag:
"I'm trying to just explain to the American people what's happening here in Washington, D.C."
"American people", not "Minnesotans".
She's running for President.

Perhaps it's merely an example of inappropriate affect, which could be a sign of an underlying mental illness.

It is a sad, even disturbing sight to see. I really didn't think anyone could outcrazy Palin - I'm ashamed to admit it, but I was wrong. Bachmann seems one interview away from outright dementia.
On the other hand, there are people out there that actually BELIEVE this woman. THAT isn't so funny, and will become less so as the body count rises.

Please folks, read the StarTribune article about Bachmann and you will see why she was re-elected in MN 6th District, my district. The greater majority of the people in the 6th district DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW ABOUT HER!! The StarTribune is the major paper in Minnesota and has traditionally been a liberal paper. It recently was purchased by conservative owners, but still has a reputation of being liberal. Imagine the "liberal" paper of your community writing an article like this about a conservative representative? Would you be able to convince people she was a conservative nut case? This is the problem we face in the 6th district. The local tv, radio and newspapers DO NOT REPORT ANYTHING NEGATIVE about her. They do not give any indication she is a nation-wide laughing stock. Tell me, what do we do? She has tons of money from big oil. How do we fight this? Anytime anyone attempts to convince people she is a wacko, the whole district rises up in order to defend her against this "unjust attack". After she appeared on Hardball her opponent received millions of dollars in campaign contributions from around the country. Everything he said about her was believed to be a lie and people voted for her out of sympathy. I feel like crying every time I see her on the internet or Colbert or Olbermann or Hardball or the Daily Show because I know the people who need to see it the most aren't watching or listening. MN voters aren't stupid, they are simply kept in the dark.
