Coleman Denies Lawsuit Being Waged In Order To Delay Franken's Seating
Norm Coleman strongly denies the allegation that his lawsuit in the Minnesota Senate race is being pursued for the purposes of delaying the Democrats from getting a 59th Senate seat.
"In spite of what some say, that somehow this is an effort to delay something -- no," Coleman told the Star Tribune. "There are very legitimate, important constitutional questions regarding whether or not people's vote should count."
Norm also said he wasn't concerned that keeping this fight going is damaging his future political prospects: "I say this humbly, I don't spend 30 seconds worrying about my political future."
In other news, Coleman's home in St. Paul was egged on Tuesday night.

Uh, Norm? You might want to check with Sen. Cornjob on that. He was pretty clear about the purpose of this thing and so were your corporate sponsors.

I remember there being an internet video game where you could throw shoes at Bush. I wonder if anyone makes one where you can throw eggs at Norm or his house.

Considering he has no political future to worry about...

He probably should, since politics in a Representative Democracy is finding out how to appeal to the will of the people.
He probably is spending too much time worrying about the FBI probe and the upcoming indictment.

His only concern is appealing to the pluotcrats who own him.

"There are very legitimate, important constitutional questions regarding whether or not people's vote should count." - Norm
There are indeed, only the relevant ones were answered in the recount and the election contest.
An election contest is not a referendum on constitutional questions, it's a challenge by a candidate who alleges s/he didn't get a fair shake. If Norm wants to amend the MN State constitution, let him do it via due process. Let disenfranchised voters petition the courts (as some did with Franken's support). That Coleman could not or did not bring his best evidence to the court is not a matter of a bad trial needing an appeals process, it's a matter of $1M in legal fees not being sufficient to buy the trial for Norm.
That said, it would be interesting to see what Coleman's lawyers will try to puff up as legitimate and important issue from the contest.
Anyone know how Franken's finances are doing? I hear he's probably spent about $1M on his side too, and probably won't get all of the paid off by Norm.

It looks like they've each spent about $6M since the election. And they've each raised about $3M this year.

I just figured Norm was reading challenged and hasn't read the court's decision.
And since his friend Joe is the person who will speak to the MN Supreme Court, his chances are going from slim to none. The Star Tribune refers to Atty. Friedberg as "noted." I guess he's noted for doing a piss-poor job at the original hearing.

Coleman knows that's BS. We know it's BS. He kows we know it's BS. And, yet, he still feels compelled to say it.
That's why they call you Slimy Norm, Norm.
It's not a compliment.

And, of course, Norm remembers clearly when he suggested that Franken should just be a stand-up guy and not waste taxpayer time and money challenging the initial election results and asking for a recount....
You do remember that, don't you Normie???
