Coleman: I'll Be Appealing Quickly
Appearing on Fox News radio with Brian Kilmeade, Norm Coleman himself confirmed that he'll be appealing his case -- which his legal spokesman had announced yesterday, after the election court handed down a ruling that seriously damaged his efforts to get his campaign's list of previously-rejected absentee ballots put into the count:
Some fun quotes, after the jump.
Coleman: Well listen I am -- I'm an optimist. Do I kinda look and say, how did we go from this lead here to where we're at today? You know, those questions get asked, but in the end I can't spend all my time worrying about what happened yesterday. This race isn't over, Brian, that's the message.
...
Kilmeade: But regardless of when those [ballots] are looked at, you're gonna keep fighting on--
Coleman: Absolutely.
Kilmeade: --and the next step would be when?
Coleman: Minnesota Supreme Court, file within ten days.
Kilmeade: Okay.
Coleman: And we'll file quicker than ten days, I can assure you. Bottom line is I want to make sure that there's a -- votes are counted fairly, uniformly, uniform standards. And we're gonna push to the Minnesota Supreme Court to make that happen if we have to.
Kilmeade: Well, this man does not quit.

You lost, Norm. Go away.

I mean really, Norm, what is it that you didn't get to do or finish in the Senate that you think you should go back there and do now? You can't suck up to Bush and Cheney anymore, they're gone. Maybe you could try to interfere with investigations of their crimes. But, if there was something really important for you to do in the Senate, why didn't you do it in the six years you were given? You had your chance. Now leave. Leave the state. Go far away.

Is there any clearer example of the fact that Republicans don't care about actually representing anyone or anything other than their own interests? Hey, Norm, how 'bout the fact that your home state has only 50% of its Senatorial representation because you won't just go out to the garden and eat worms?

Sue before you lose, appeal before you lose the lawsuit...

Duuuuhhhh!!! Of course he's going to appeal quickly. He has to, otherwise Franken will be certified. When he loses in the MN-SC he will appeal that quickly, too, and immediately ask for an injunction to stop the certification. That, boys and girls, is the only objective here - delay the certification as long as possible.

For the GOP the object now is not really for Coleman to get to the senate rather keep Franklin from getting Obama closer to 60 vts.

As a long time MN resident, let me just say to Norm:
Norm, you will never be appealing, ever.

Under the statute at issue, he only has ten days to appeal. What a joke. I bet he files his appeal on the tenth day to drag it out as long as possible.

...and you won't be "appealing" quickly, or ever...you're repellent, in fact.

I really think the GOP is going to lose long term in this scenario. Just like in 1998, when Newt & Co. reacted in a knee-jerk fashion and figured impeachment was The Way To Go, only to lose seats in the midterms, I have to think the GOP will pay a price at the polls for keeping Minnesota from having 2 seats at the table in the Senate.
Minnesotans wants representation, and they have long memories.

No matter what Notso Nimble Norman tries, he will never be appealing . . . ‘Repugnant’ and ‘repellent’ are the words that come to mind in his case.

Franken does need someone out there pointing out that Norm has rather lost the spirit of fair play. He should be titled the Biggest Bad Loser.

Well, somebody has to eventually win this thing -- and that somebody is, for all intents and purposes, Al Franken.
