DNC Radio Ad Calls On Coleman To Concede
The Democratic National Committee announced tonight that they're airing a radio ad in the Twin Cities media market, calling on Norm Coleman to concede defeat after the three-judge court ruled that Al Franken won the election -- the first major step in real political mobilization by either side after last night's verdict.
The announcer starts off by reading the legal language from the court's opinion, that Franken won the highest number of votes and is entitled to the certificate of election, and then emphasizing that Franken is the winner. "Yet Coleman, and national Republicans who want to thwart the will of the voters, have vowed to file more appeals and hopeless legal challenges that will only result in more delay," she then says.
The ad concludes by asking listeners to call Norm Coleman and tell him that it's time to concede defeat: "Tell Norm Coleman to stop putting his political ambition ahead of what is right for Minnesota."
The ad can be heard here.

Exactly the thing to do. Al Franken needs and deserves to have his reputation protected by just these kinds of public pronouncments.

Upside to Quimby's Appeal:
1. The MNSC might give the bogus "equal protection" argument the flogging it deserves. And the MSM might even report on it. Oops, that's the ecstacy talking.
2. Pawlenty will shadd all over himself while positioning for national prominence. When the NaRC says, "Assume the position," Plenty Awful will cry out, "Thank you Sir may I have another!" Quimby has set a great example there. Awful Plenty is not going to win reelection here. If he wins the Repugly's primary, Obama will crush him. Awful Plenty won't even carry his home state. Sweet revenge.
3. While Quimby is on his way to jail, a couple of his cronies will break into Awful Plenty's home and plant a couple of Narm's ill-gotten zoot suits in the Governor's Mansion. Awful Plenty will get caught flat-footed and slack-jawed. Nobody will notice, however, because he always looks that way.

True dat.
And it's time to send LTE's to the Strib and Press urging them to rescind their Quimby endorsements and call on him to stand down. I have.
