Ellison Responds To Bachmann's 'Psycho Talk'
(The relevance here is that Ellison is the first Muslim elected to Congress. And the men were in town for a conference held a week and a half after Ellison's election. And they were released after it was found they posed no threat.)
Schultz billed Bachmann's allegation as part of his regular "Psycho Talk" feature, and asked Ellison if it was true. "This is not true," said Ellison. "I think it could even be called 'Psycho Talk.'"
Just before Ellison's appearance, his press secretary Rick Jauert told me that the Congressman had tried to call Bachmann to discuss this. She wasn't available, so he left her a note. "He's just not gonna engage her," said Jauert.

Hooray, an Ellison thread. Thanks Eric and Big Ed. Keith needs equal time. How can our side win if we keep promoting the other side?

Yeah, and Dems should keep the pressure up on Michelle Bachman. I seriously hope there's a good recruit to challenge her in 2010.

Whether it's Bachmann or DeLay or Palin or Rush -- Republicans embrace their lunatics and promote them. Democrats, on the other hand, take great pains to keep their distance from a nice guy like Keith (see Obama and Klobuchar for reference) just because he's a Muslim and a bit liberal. Keith is no lunatic, but most of the time the party does what it can to keep him in the liberal closet. Meanwhile, the looney tunes on the right rant 24/7 and if 1/24th of what they say sinks in they've won the day.

Keith Ellison is awesome and I'm very proud he's my Representative. If Washington DC was filled with Ellison's, well, we just might see some progress.
So... if you're outraged at Bachman's fundraising, or if your just a solid Blue, progressive, Democrat (or caucus with them- like me)-- then give Ellison some monies. Show Bachman and the Repubs we support our own too.

Ellison was also one of the first COngressmen to up the ante for public transportation when it looked like it was getting the short end of the stimulus stick. His lead helped open some other hearts and minds to the need for better mass transit.
The thought that Bachman and Ellison hail from the same state just proves how diverse and interesting we Americans really are.
Especially up north where that cold weather tends to numb your skull.

Actually, we think of the cold as keeping out weaker elements. I guess Bachmann disproves that theory.

I know Ellison. He's a positive person with rarely a negative word about anyone. As mild as his statement was by cable news standards, for him that was harsh.
On the other hand, at last we're talking about one of Minnesota's many sane politicians!

Ellison also knows how to kick Republican butt when it's necessary:

Nicely done, Rep. Ellison.
And a big ol' raspberry to the walking, talking Penelope Pitstop of the Right, Michele Bachmann.

It amazes me how Republicans like Bachmann and Burrs seem to increasly play to the crazies in their party for support.

Hooray for Bachmann...She really can't let a week go by without reminding people what wingnuts the Republican Party embraces.
Keep up the Good Work Michele...Limbaugh/Bachmann 2012!
