Judge Rules That Blago May Not Leave Country To Be On Reality Show
In yet another setback for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-IL), U.S. District Court Judge James Zagel has just ruled that Blago is not allowed to travel to Costa Rica to appear on a Survivor-style reality show for celebrities.
Blago would have needed to this special permission to leave the country during a time when he is under indictment. The Chicago Sun-Times quotes the judge as saying: "I don't think this defendant in all honesty ... fully understands the position he finds himself in."
Besides, this whole thing seemed pretty superfluous: Blago already starred on a really fun reality show.

There are days when I feel like I'm reading The Onion instead of a real news site. You can't make this up.

I think I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this sentence. Eric? You've outdone yourself with this.

It isn't so much a setback for Blago, as it is for NBC. Blago would have been a ratings bonanza.

I think it was Mo Rocca on this week's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me on NPR who said that the point is moot b/c Blago already sold his spot on the cast...

Someone on NPR also suggested that Blago would have an unfair advantage because he would store extra supplies in his hair.

Blago needn't worry. He'll be featured in LOCKDOWN soon enough.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
I was so looking forward to this! Really really disappointing. I'd say make NBC responsible, if Blago takes off, NBC pays 100,000,000 or something to recompense the state.
