Leader In NY-20 Is Murphy Tedisco Murphy!
And the count just keeps getting crazier in NY-20, with Democrat Scott Murphy now on the top end of this see-saw result.
The state's latest official results put Republican candidate Jim Tedisco ahead by 97 votes, as the counties have double-checked their spreadsheets. But now the latest numbers from Washington County give Murphy a 180-vote pickup compared to the state's figures, for an overall lead of 83 votes.
The numbers were first reported by PolitickerNY, and confirmed to TPM by the county.

Thank you Eric.
Why would Tedesco want to delay the counting of absentee ballots, anyway?

Good question. Why does anybody get a strategic advantage from delaying the count for a week?

Tedisco wants to delay counting the absentee ballots already received until all the remaining absentee ballots are received, most if not all of which are overseas ballots and some of those are from military personnel. He fears counting the absentee ballots without the ones from the military will skew to Murphy giving him a healthy lead until (and perhaps beyond) the counting of ballots from military personnel.

The slow count has long been the refuge of the scalawags and fixers. We scream about slow counts when they happen in the third world.
Tedisco's looking to slow count so he can find the pressure points and put the fix in. It's like Norm Coleman - if one thing doesn't work, try another, and then another. I'm glad the Dems haven't succombed to this in this race.

I do have to say, Tedisco's shenanigans give me real hope that we've won this thing. Usually, I've lived in fear of absentee ballots on Election day, but if Tedisco's looking to slow count this thing, he probably knows something we don't. Perhaps from all that post-election phone-calling he's been doing.

Well, Roger Stone has been sighted in Troy. Can Brooks Brother rioters and worse dirty business be far behind?

Troy has a very active swingers scene so it may be completely unrelated.

Go read The Albany Project--Tedisco has been post-polling absentee voters (I got a call cause my father voted absentee) to see how they voted.
He wants to contest as many ballots as possible, and he can't do it once the ballot has been separated from its envelope and counted. It has to be challenged before it is separated. He wanted as much time as possible to ID likely Murphy voters so he would know which ballots to challenge.

That does not bode well. At least we know if they bring out some "Sore/Loserman" signs that we can have an appropriate response this time...
