NRCC Targets Dems On Budget, Focusing Rhetoric Against Pelosi
The NRCC has announced a new wide-reaching ad campaign, composed of TV and radio spots plus robocalls, targeting key House Democrats over the federal budget. They aren't targeting President Obama -- he's too popular right now, obviously -- but are instead focusing their firepower on Nancy Pelosi.
Here's a TV ad against Rep. Zack Space (D-OH):
"Nancy Pelosi pushed a budget with a trillion-dollar deficit -- and Space voted to let Nancy Pelosi get her way," the announcer says. There's also a radio version of the ad, with this sample against freshman Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper (D-PA).
Space's district voted for John McCain 53%-45%, and Dahlkemper's went for McCain by less than one point. The NRCC will also have other TV and radio ads and robocalls against a diverse line-up of House Dems, some from Obama districts and others from McCain districts, though all of them are swing seats to various degrees. The full listing is after the jump.
John Adler (NJ-03); Jason Altmire (PA-04); Michael Arcuri (NY-24); Tim Bishop (NY-01); John Boccieri (OH-16); Leonard Boswell (IA-03); Allen Boyd (FL-02); Chris Carney (PA-10); Gerry Connolly (VA-11); Kathy Dahlkemper (PA-03); Peter DeFazio (OR-04); Steve Driehaus (OH-01); Chet Edwards (TX-17); Brad Ellsworth (IN-08); Gabby Giffords (AZ-08); Alan Grayson (FL-08); John Hall (NY-19); Debbie Halvorson (IL-11); Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (SD-AL); Baron Hill (IN-09); Jim Himes (CT-04); Steve Kagen (WI-08); Paul Kanjorski (PA-11); Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15); Larry Kissell (NC-08); Ron Klein (FL-22); Dan Maffei (NY-25); Eric Massa (NY-29); Jerry McNerney (CA-11); Charlie Melancon (LA-03); Dennis Moore (KS-03); Gary Peters (MI-09); Loretta Sanchez (CA-47); Mark Schauer (MI-07); Kurt Schrader (OR-05); Joe Sestak (PA-07); Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01); Heath Shuler (NC-11); Vic Snyder (AR-02); Zack Space (OH-18); John Spratt (SC-05); Bart Stupak (MI-01) and Dina Titus (NV-03).

Republicans are focused on Congress as they should be. Attacking Obama right now would be of no help at all unless he stumbles. If he does stumble, they'll try and tie him to congressional Dems.

Yes. It would have made so much more sense to vote for John Boehner's Budget Without Numbers.
How stupid do they think Americans are?

Americans are plenty stupid. Where have you been the past 30 years?
This and other attacks will have to be countered. Maybe not directly or right away (the elections are still 19 months away), but please don't let one or two elections convince you America is suddenly immune to bullshit.

Golly, I'll bet this will work just as well for them as all the previous lines of BS they've tried. FAIL.

The current federal budget plan - and the bailouts - spend too much, tax too much, borrow too much, and bailout too many. As an American you should be writing your elected officials, telling them to stop the madness.
As freedomgap.org has opined, Even more twisted is the Administration’s notion of a one world currency. Having one’s currency as the world’s currency can be an advantage because you can run big deficits financed by the rest of the world, you can spend more than you bring in, and you can escape the consequences by devaluing your currency when you get into a financial jam. In all seriousness, running big deficits and spending more than you earn are not good long-term economic strategies.

In all seriousness, brain-dead far right trolls are a huge yawn.

Eric,
1) If the NRCC / DNC / anyone makes this type of announcement including robocalls, it is critical that you ask for the audio of the call. I've seen far too many of this press releases go out with no evidence in the field that these calls actually go out. But the (FILL IN THE BLANK) org gets free media and the opposition tries to figure out what is going on.
2) If they are making robos in CA, MN, IN or SC, they are illegal.
Details about the various laws are at:
