Steele Responds To RNC Members' Plot Against Him
Michael Steele is firing back at his RNC detractors, who are bringing forward a proposed rewrite of the RNC's rules to effectively strip Steele of his control over the party's finances.
The Washington Times reports that Steele has fired off an e-mail to the proposal's five main sponsors. "No RNC chairman has ever had to deal with this," Steele wrote, "and I certainly have no intention of putting up with it either."
Steele also wrote: "It is of course not lost on me that each of you worked tirelessly down to the last minute in an effort to stop me from becoming chairman."

Will he go nuclear on his way out?

No, because he's a pussy. If he resigns, he'll try his best to tippie-toe out so as not to make any noise that might make Rush Limbaugh upset. You know, for the good of the party that respects him sooooooooooooooooo much.

He'll go out kicking and screaming and holding onto the desk legs as they drag him away because his political career has reached the well-known dead end. This job is all he has left -- there's no electorate that will take him now.

Nah...He'll just pick himself up, replace his tinfoil hat on backwards, and then join the Dem Party.
But, he won't renounce any of his GOPO hip-hop bat-sh*t crazy ways. No sirree-- he doesn't have to. He'll be welcomed into the Dem Party with open arms, and IMMEDIATELY promoted to the head of the line, over progressive loyalists who've worked their hearts out for years to get the party to where it is now.
I am proud that our party is a big, tent, but can't these FAKE new-comers at least get at the back of the line and EARN their way up? After Lieberman and Specter both being given head of the line priveleges and rewarded for the harm they have done to our country and our party, I am truly disheartened. Michael Steele probably has his bags already packed.

Wait, did they? I seem to remember it more that Steele was more or less ignored up to the vote, then won on the fifth ballot or something because Blackwell and Dawson self-destructed and Steele was the least controversial person on the ballot.

I don't know why I feel bad for Steele. It's kinda like, aside from being a ditz, he's helpless. Or, something.
