Tancredo: "I Don't Know" Whether Obama Administration Hates White People
Appearing on Hardball today, former Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) was asked whether he agrees with Rush Limbaugh that the Obama Administration hates white people. His answer: "I don't know."
"What do I -- I have no idea if they hate white people or not. But I will tell you this," he said, as David Shuster attempted unsuccessfully to interrupt him. "I am sick of having people suggest that because I am Caucasian, I cannot -- and that's the suggestion here -- is that if you are white, Caucasian, male, you cannot comment on this sort of thing."

Y'know, if ol' Strom had been elected back in '48, we wouldn't be having this sort of problem.

I saw this segment. Tancredo is becoming increasingly unhinged and deranged - even Susan Molinaro couldn't pull him down off the ledge. David Schuster was awesome. He gave Tancredo a few opportunities to apologize and Tancredo toughed it out. Schuster was a perfect combination of derision, amusement and incredulity. Pretty funny stuff!

LOL, I love David Shuster, as he always challenges falsehoods, regardless which side is attempting it.

I second that. Shuster keeps just enough of a journalistic distance and never gets angry. As a longtime Olbermann viewer, I enjoy the show far more these days when Shuster's subbing. Sorry, Keith, just getting a little tired of the rage.

I think that TPM missed the real money quote from Tancredo:
"We [angry white males] are in the minority status! We've listened to you people for far too long!"
Exactly! When is this country going to cut middle-aged, angry, white males a break in this country! I mean, what, we've only had the last 43 of the 44 presidents being white males. And the congress is only what...90% white males?

Yes, but many of them are obviously self-loathing white males.

minority status for RAWM (republican angry white male), not WM in general.

So Tancredo and his fellow angry white males feel they're in the minority status? Is he next going to say he and his ilk are being denied what they're entitled too? Too bad this sheer nonsense will become strategic talking points for the GOP in 2010.

Raceism is alive and well in the Democratic Party. Female receism is color blind and dear Sonia is just the face wearing it right now.

Perhaps you should learn to spell the word before expounding on its prominence in the Democratic party.
Perhaps you should learn to write a coherent sentence, too.
Just a little tip on how you might be taken seriously.

Heh. Reminds me (during the primaries) of Hillary "not knowing" whether Obama was a Muslim or not.

Politoracism of convenience. Plain embarrassing.
Just a though, this has to be gnawing at Michael Steele at some level.
Well any way, and the band played on.....I can almost hear Michael playing the violin over the cacophony of GOP racial conflagration that is spreading through the Republican empire .

Rep. Bonilla of Texas has said that people will soon realize that these comments are just the same kind of comments that come from the liberal left.
Really? They dug through this woman's entire past, found one comment that could be questionable, and now call her part of the Latino KKK.
When have the liberal left done something like that? Am I too blinded by my own bias or is there a double standard that Republicans can say whatever comes to their minds, while Democrats have to watch every word?

Wait, scratch that, they'd love George Strait, so we'll replace him with Enya...lol
