The Sunday Show Line-Ups
Here are the line-ups for the Sunday talk shows this weekend:
• ABC, This Week: Adm. Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
• CBS, Face The Nation: Former Sec. of State Colin Powell; Dr. Alvin Poussaint, psychiatrist, Harvard University.
• CNN, State Of The Union: Former Sec. of Homeland Security Tom Ridge; Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Richard Shelby (R-AL); and Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND).
• Fox News Sunday: Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) and Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE).
• NBC, Meet The Press: Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-GA).

If only we could win a resounding electoral victory. Then I'm sure we'd get at least equal time on the Sunday shows. Why, I'll bet that when they did put on Democrats they'd be real ones. Sigh. If only we could win just one election.

Hey, this isn't too awful a series of lineups.
Undoubtedly an outlier.

Back during the Bush years, the Republican to Democrat ratio was frequently 3:1.

I think the republicans have their eye on 2010. If the Dems can pick up some more Senate Seats, the decibel level might go down for a while. God willing, we won't lose any seats.

Yes, other than Newt, we love all the former Bush officials that just won't go away (Tom Ridge). By the way, I really just do not want to hear from Dick Cheney let alone Liz Cheney, not that they are on this line up. I can't think of a time that Liz Cheney spoke out the entire administration and now she is doing interview after interview.
Al Gore was not even close to being this obnoxious after he was out of office.
Sore losers, yes. This only confirms who was in control of George Bush's administration, and it wasn't him. Glad to hear again from ya Tom Ridge! Not.
Newt is about the last A-teamer they have left in line. Walk away graciously.
At this point there's nothing left to debate. Health care, yes. Corporate regulation, yes. Common sense approach to defense, yes. New energy, yes.
If the Republican party get's salvaged, it's not going to be from these people. I can't say it's likely that the Republican party will even be around after Obama.

Breaking things down between foreign and domestic policy, the Cheney-Rove administration is probably the most descriptive appellation.
Newts don't walk. They hop.

If Walter Mondale were jetting around the country, speaking to the ACLU or the SEIU about torture--or anything at all--do you think he'd get the wall-to-freaking-wall coverage Cheney and Gin Grinch are getting?
Dick and Newt have been turned out of office--disgraced, even. And yet the media can't get enough of them. They have to keep flaunting them in our faces, even on the Internets.
So if Dick provokes some kind of attack or another national tragedy--which he's clearly trying to incite for his own (and the Repugs') political gain--can we send the cable anchor of our choice to prison for complicity? When Newt tries to rewrite history--as he does each time he appears on teevee, even though we can Youtube his lies to death--can we sentence David Gregory to 18 months in a medium security prison for perjury after inviting him on "Press the Meat" over and over and over again?
