Bachmann Raising Money Off "Liberty Or Tyranny" Speech Against Cap-And-Trade
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is now raising campaign cash off her floor speech this past Friday, Greg Sargent reports, in which she boldly called the climate-change bill a government takeover of "every aspect" of people's lives by a tyrannical government.
"When I spoke on the floor during the debate, I laid the question out in its most bare-boned terms: this is about liberty versus tyranny," Bachmann writes.
She later adds: "Please help me show that conservatives will not simply stand by while they destroy jobs, delete liberty, and decimate our economy."
Delete liberty? Remember, patriotic Americans, there's still time to go to the Dock at the bottom of your screen, and grab that liberty file back out of the Trash!

As I was writing you last Friday, Congress was in the midst of a pivotal debate on the cap-and-trade national energy tax.
Regrettably, the House of Representatives by a slim margin of only 7 votes passed this terrible job-killing, economy-crushing government power grab.
Just 7 votes. If only 4 of the Members that voted for this bill had voted the other way, we could have defeated this senseless legislation.
It goes to show you how absolutely important your early and active involvement is. The margins are that slim.

Your headline is a little bit misleading. She's trying to raise money off that speech.
It remains to be seen whether she actually achieves that goal.

Guess who this is aimed at? The Ron Paul people. "Liberty" and "Tyranny" are key code words for these people. And they DO have the ability and willingness to raise significant money.

I always love it when conservatives whine about government having control over every aspect of our lives. I can play that game too!
Today, the government told me when to stop, when to go, and which way I was allowed to turn when driving my car which I paid for with my own money. This is intolerable!
As I entered the building where I work, I noticed the government had mandated that the building have a door that opens automatically at the push of a button, that its ceilings have a certain minimum height, and that only a certain weight of people was allowed to get on the elevator. And to make it worse, every few years an agent of the government comes in to inspect the place and tell us whether or not we're safe in the event of a fire. As if we couldn't figure that out for ourselves!
And don't even get me started on the restaurant I went to for lunch. There were all kinds of banned substances in there. I'll bet the government tells the restaurant what kinds of foods it can't serve, too.

Two questions:
1) Who are "they"?
2) If "they" delete liberty, why can't we just undelete it by restoring it from the Recycle Bin? Are "they" still running DOS?

And that's only the tip of the tyranny iceberg we've been destroyed by since the 1950's when everything was perfect under the Republican Ike administration. The government has also taken away my liberty to be killed in a most any car wreck or get brain damage in a motorcycle accident. Not to mention the freedom to breathe any kind of air I want and kill any animal or plant I feel like whether it is the last of its kind or not. I can't even dump my used antifreeze or oil on the street anymore without worrying about a government bureaucrat interfering. Here in New York City I can't even get my french fries fried in delicious trans fat grease or light up while eating them anymore for God's sake! Pretty soon I might not be able to fire an employee who has chosen to flaunt living an unholy lifestyle or evict them from an apartment I OWN! Maybe I should move to Alaska to get out of the Socialist States of America. I hear they pay you to live there.

Today Rush Limbaugh claimed that the cap-and-trade bill and health care reform were both actually "backdoor" reparations for slavery. Seriously.

The above is true but I regret posting it. I know Rush Limbaugh only says things like that and things like this and "Barack Obama is to blame for Mark Sanford cheating on his wife" because he wants people to be so outraged that they talk/blog/write about it. I apologize for playing his stupid game.
