Limbaugh: Obama A "Half-Black, Half-White Human Being With No Experience"

Rush Limbaugh keeps on managing to up the ante when it comes to bashing President Obama. And this time, his rhetoric has become expressly racial.

While bashing Newsweek editor Evan Thomas for saying last week that Obama was attempting to be "sort of God" in his approach to international relations -- that is, moving beyond a single-minded American approach and thinking globally -- Limbaugh then made a reference to Obama's racial background as a seemingly disqualifying factor.

Said Limbaugh: "It is offensive to the sensibilities of millions of people to hear a member of the state-run media refer to a half-black, half-white human being with no experience running anything of substance referred to as a god. He may be president of the United States, but he's not a god."

Except for the fact that it's Limbaugh, after all, I'd say that this would be utterly unbelievable. Every time we think the guy can't top himself for sheer malevolent racist ass-holiness, he somehow manages it.

Then again, as a corpulent, feculent, philandering, drug-addicted, whoremongering racist blowhard, he may be a radio personality but he's not a human being.

user-pic

Who's racist, Rush Limbaugh, noooooooooooooooooo!!

user-pic

Offensive to the sensabilities of millions? "Referred to as a god" by the media?

Will somebody please buy these stupid sunzabishes a functioning irony detector?

user-pic

...state-run media...

Huh?

user-pic

Could this be Limbaugh's Imus? How long will he go? How much slack do they give this guy until he finally goes too far? It's an eventuality--he's a walking time bomb.

How long will he go? How much slack do they give this guy until he finally goes too far?

Morality and decency have nothing to do with the calculus. As long as there are fools who are willing to patronize the Big Fat Idiot's sponsors (i.e., as long as someone is making money), he'll have free rein to spew from both orafices.

user-pic

Agreed. There is nothing he would ever say that was so outrageous it would cost him his job or even offend his fans. Like Coulter, his entire job consists solely of telling his adoring fans exactly what they're already thinking. Also like Coulter, the entire secret of his success is that he identifies and articulates thoughts that his listeners have but, at some level, know are antisocial and shameful. By loudly and publically airing thoughts that a decent person would and should be ashamed to have through mass media, he destigmatizes and legitimizes those guilty thoughts and thereby frees his listeners of any guilt or nasty conscience pangs.

No wonder they love him so and shower him with money.

user-pic

Too big to fail.

user-pic

EPIC WIN.

user-pic

Racists always bring everything back to race: Limbaugh, Buchannan (Bay & Pat), Gingrich. These racists are always calling somebody a racist.

user-pic

And then they become shocked and offended when you call them on it.

user-pic

Its a classic case of projection.

user-pic

I used to think, and I still do, but less and less each day, that Rush was just a savvy flamethrower, who knew what would keep his audience tuned in and listening.

I thought he was the consummate show man. In a way that Madonna is--they can figure out what the audience wants, and figure out a way to deliver it.

Now, though, I'd prefer to think Limbaugh is really just a racist creep who's slowly but surely coming unglued at the fact that Obama hasn't failed, that people continue to support him in large numbers, and that the world is starting to think about, just maybe, respecting the US again.

I'd prefer to think this than to think that Limbaugh's audience is frothing at the mouth with racial hatred. I'd prefer to think that Rush is coming unglued, and not that a significant proportion (minority, certainly, but still. . .) is collectively losing its sanity over this President.

user-pic

None of those things are mutually exclusive.

user-pic

No, but it's less depressing to think he's coming unglued than it is to consider that there's a significant chunk of the population who agrees with him.

user-pic

The KKK is alive and well.

user-pic

the republican party is the party of bigots and the people who tolerate them.

the longer the republicans go without a post-'southern strategy' strategy the more plain this becomes.

user-pic

Rush is half-brained.

user-pic

And half human.

user-pic

How do we know he still has high ratings? The radio rating system is not as exact as television....could he be trending down and trying to pull himself up?
altogether an asshat.

user-pic

This is coming from a college dropout with no experience other than talking into a radio microphone.

user-pic

Rush has always been excitable and virulent with his topic of the day.

However, the little bits of Rush I have caught from my vehicle radio at lunch time lately seem to be with a higher level of angst and excitement and pyschotic ranting, especially when Rush talks about how the Obama Administration is ruining our economy, you know, turning the US into a totalitarian socialist (or is it communist or fascist-he seems to bounce around a lot?)state by Pres. Obama and the state run MSM. His voice seems to be even higher pitched and faster paced than ever. Have you watched the video clips of how he tugs at his sport shirt like a nervous habit?

President Obama must really be getting to Rush. I can't wait to see how Rush is doing about six months from now.

user-pic

Maybe he's having a massive coronary?

user-pic

At the Frick Museum there are 2 Holbien portraits: one of Sir Thomas More, and one of Thomas Cromwell. Holbien was a master portraitist and you don't need English history to know which one of these guys died for principle and which one was finally caught in the political trap he set for someone else.

Every time I see a photo of Rush, I see Cromwell.

user-pic

Way to go medieval--er, Early Modern--on Rush's ass.

user-pic

The media could have a field day grilling Republicans on this. Do you agree with Rush? Do you think these remarks are racist? If you agree with Rush, wouldn't that make you a racist, too? If no, why not? If you don't agree with Rush, do you still think he is one of the leaders of the Republican party?

The possibilities are endless. I think this is a job that calls for Tweety's special talents.

user-pic

Limbaugh is an embarrassment to the human race. Let's get a rope and put an end to it.

user-pic

"he's a walking time bomb."

And so is his heart.

user-pic
13 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the Son of Man is?’ 14And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, but others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ 15He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ 16Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah,* the Son of the living God.’ - Matthew 13
user-pic

What's next from Rush? References to fried chicken and watermelon?

Stay tuned.

user-pic

For celebrities... all press is good and will ensure big bucks in the near future. This includes clowns like this guy. The more we pay attention, the more folks will listen and the more money he will make.

Too bad our society has come to this.... it signifies our continual decline and slide down that slippery slope.

"Limbaugh... of course I know who he is!"

"Senator who?"

user-pic

I am breaking his face off when I see him. Just watch.

user-pic

with no experience running anything of substance

Well, at this point, Rushbo, he's got 5 months more experience running the Executive Branch of the United States Government than anyone you guys can float next time out...

user-pic

Yeah, this from the same guy who opens his show boasting his "talent on loan from God?" And what the hell has Jabba the Rush ever run besides his slobbering mouth??

user-pic

Yes, Rush does seem to get a little upset when someone else is referred to as a god.

user-pic

All the money in the world cannot cure jealousy, it is eating him alive. as a matter of fact all the current members of the far right seem afflicted with the green monster.
