Limbaugh On The Sanford Affair: It's Obama's Fault!
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh offered his own explanation for the Mark Sanford scandal: That Sanford flew out of the country to have an affair because President Obama drove him over the edge:
"This is almost like, 'I don't give a damn, the country's going to Hell in a handbasket, I just want out of here,'" said Limbaugh. "He had just tried to fight the stimulus money coming to South Carolina. He didn't want any part of it. He lost the battle. He said, 'What the Hell. I mean, I'm -- the federal government's taking over -- what the Hell, I want to enjoy life.'"
"The point is," he added, "there are a lot of people whose spirit is just -- they're fed up, saying to Hell with it, I don't even want to fight this anymore, I just want to get away from it."

A year ago when he started bopping her, Obama was a Senator and Sanford was eyeing the VP slot next to McCain.
Why waste electrons printing what Rush says on his show.

Also, Dubya was in the White House and things really were going to hell in a handbasket. So I guess Rush was right after all. Sorta.

Actually I am a Psych nurse with many years of working with really troubled patients. Frankly, I am beginning to worry about Limbaugh. He seems to be allowing himself to get further and further out of control. Aside from that, his ability to think straight seems to be very much at risk. Poor thing needs our compassion since he seems tpo be coming unglued these days. No doubt, it is being out of the loop so far these days. Someone with his gigantic ego surely seems unable to take the fact that he is becoming so irrelevant. I almost feel sorry for the guy. He is to be pitted.

He doesn't want to be here, I guess; most of us don't want him here. Why doesn't he head off to Antarctica or somewhere where he won't have to worry about creeping islamo-facist-socialist-nazi-marxist-leninist-Obamaism?
And as a bonus, it's cold down there, so he can keep railing to nobody about how that "proves" the climate isn't changing.

Playing to a base that's so desperate to hear something bad about Obama since they can't find anything good about their own party? So detached from reality that they could actually make themselves believe that Rush is making sense with this crap?
This stuff is just embarrassingly pathetic now.

This might sound funny, but in a twisted way Rush might be right. Let's review. Sanford told the world that South Carolina didn't want stimulus money. On behalf of South Carolina and its well above 10% unemployed he would turn the Federal government's stimulus money down. When the citizens of South Carolina heard Sanford they say "bullshit, we need the money." Sanford, sticking to something he calls principle vetoed 8 bills. All eight were overridden by the South Carolina legislature. Essentially he and his hard right conservative principles were utterly rejected. He needed a shoulder to cry on. At that point his wife knew about his Argentina honey, so her shoulder was unavailable. What is an utterly rejected man going to do? Take 5 days off to hike. No he is going to flee to his favorite soft shoulder in the world.
Of course, it isn't Obama's fault. It is Sanford's fault for not realizing that the time of Rush Limbaugh, hard right conservatism and the lamebrain dittohead base started to end in 2006 and came crashing down for good last year when the economy tanked. People are demanding solutions not slogans. Republicans are very short on actual solutions.
