Alaska Dems Blast Palin's "Lack Of Commitment"

The Alaska Democratic Party has released this statement on Sarah Palin's resignation:

"Alaskans are dismayed yet not surprised that Governor Palin is abandoning her obligations to our great state. Sarah Palin's decision to step down as governor is a shock to Alaskans, coming at a time when leadership is needed secure a gas pipeline and address rising unemployment. Palin's lack of commitment to her sworn obligation to serve her term to the best of her ability is a betrayal to all Alaskans," said Patti Higgins, Chair of the Alaska Democratic Party.

Palin spent 1 term at Hawaii Pacific College, transferred to N. Idaho (Community) College for 2 terms, won the Miss Wasilla Pageant, finished 3rd in the Miss Alaska Pageant where she won a scholarship and the Miss Congeniality Award. She went to the Univ. of Idaho for the next 2 years, then the Matanuska-Susitna (Community) College in Alaska for 1 term, before going back to the U. of Idaho for 3 more terms to get her bachelor’s degree in communications-journalism. She finished 1 of 2 terms on the Wasilla City Council and 2 terms as Wasilla Mayor, lost her bid for Lt. Gov., chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission for less than 1 year before quitting, citing ethics violations of fellow Repub’s, served as director of "Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc." [T.S. - guilty of 7 counts of failing to properly report gifts], served 18 months as Alaska Gov. before McCain picked her to run for VP. Now she is quiting the Gov. job.

Hmm. So the college record suggests that she'll move on to being governor of some other state, right?

Luckily, the nominations are already closed for my state, since we're having the election for governor this year. But all those who have gubernatorial elections in 2010, look out!

And to think the republicans took her seriously.

That's why voters can't take republicans seriously. Republicans, hint: You will make no headway smearing Obama. You will make headway when you present better solutions. For now, this idea seems like an insurmountable mountain to you.

First, give up the character assassination of Obama. People don't believe he is a terrorist or socialist or evil Nazi. Come up with better solutions. You republicans just don't get it. Wake up before you are like the dodo bird -- extinct.

To think, they want us to believe -- they take her seriously, while they chuckle maniacally at our reactions.

I think she is more likely to become the defacto leader of a teabagger insurrection than a serious contender for high office. She has no chance of winning an AK senate seat now, and there are just not enough wingnuts left to elect her president. She is a power-hungry, violent, unscrupulous, secessionist zealot who happens to be the darling of the gun-toting neanderthal crowd. No one else sees where this is going? The only question left in my mind is whether a military composed primarily of white, poor, southern and midwestern evangelicals will defend the constitution (and that black guy in the white house) or side with the teabaggers.

I think the word that's being used to describe her efforts is "Iquiterod."
