Arkansas GOP Senate Candidate Calls For Fighting Domestic Enemies, Protecting America's Christian Identity

The Arkansas Republican Party sure seems to have an interesting line-up of Senate candidates. Check out these statement from retired Army officer Curtis Reynolds.

"When I joined the military I took an oath to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic," Reynolds said. "I never thought it would be domestic, but in today's world I do believe we have enemies here. It's time for people to stand up. It's time for us to speak out."

He added: "We need someone to stand up to Barack Obama and his policies. We must protect our culture, our Christian identity."

When he got to the Q&A session, he said that he would be careful with his answers, "I don't want to do a Kim Hendren," and later clarified that he was not categorizing President Obama as a domestic enemy.

Kim Hendren is a state Senator who referred to Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) as "that Jew," and subsequently apologized -- saying he meant to state his support for "traditional values."

Another candidate is businessman Curtis Coleman, who said people need vaccinations to visit Southeastern Arkansas.

Yeah, sounds like he's careful to speak fluent dog-whistle. The "Christian Identity movement" are white supremacists. Maybe someone should ask him about that.

"We need someone to stand up to Barack Obama and his policies. We must protect our culture, our Christian identity."

This guy sounds like the Homer Stokes -- the gubernatorial candidate/Klan leader from O Brother Where Art Thou?

Stokes: Oh, brothers! We have all gathered here to preserve our hallowed culture and heritage from intrusion, inclusion and dilution of colour, of creed, and of our old-time religion!

We aim to pull evil up by the root before it chokes out the flower of our culture and heritage.

And our women, let's not forget those ladies, y'all, looking to us for protection from darkies, from Jews, from papists, and from all those smart-ass folks say we come descended from monkeys.

That's not my culture and heritage. Is it yours?

Klansmen: No!

Stokes: And so...we gonna hang us a Negro.

Well, maybe not that last part -- yet.

That is too funny! I was JUST about to post this one, also from our buddy Homer Stokes, just a little bit later in the movie when he is at the public event:

These boys is not white. These boys is not white. Hell, they ain't even old-timey. (I thought it was "old timing" or "old timin'" whatever)

Look, I happen to know, ladies and gentlemen, that this band of miscreants here, this very evening, interfered with a lynch mob in the performance of its duty. Well, it's true. See, I belong to a certain secret society -- I don't believe I gotta mention it's name -- and these boys, here, they trampled all over our venerated observances and rituals.

Now, this here music is over, alright?

Listen to me, these boys desecrated a fiery cross. And this ...fugitives escaped off the farm. Now, folks, these boys gotta be remanded to the authorities. Criminals.

And, I have it from the highest authority that that negra sold his soul to the devil.

[audience expresses disapproval]

Wait, wait a minute folks. It's true. It's true. Now, wait a minute, folks. Is you is or is you ain't my constituency? Is you is or is you ain't my constituency? Is you is or -- [plug pulled]

........

Let's hope our modern day Homer Stokes' meet the same result

This goes to the entire code as to Obama's Birth Certificate issue, Socialism, et cetera....it is Road to Dominion, it is the fueled cultural war....

Ironically reading the "Fourth Turning" this is also generational and reading "Evolution's Arrow" the expression that the entire paradigm of how the world is organized is all changing.

Yes protect your myths and distortions....it is all you got.

This is implicitly racist, and I mean with a capital R.

Allow me to briefly explain:

Racism, as an ideology that arose in the past several hundred years, has always a conflation of culture and biology. In fact, that is what makes it racism. Dividing people into groups was never the project. Even Lineus (sp?) threw in behavioral characteristics in his "taxonomoy" of the "races". Racism purported to show culture and behavior were a result of biology, of blood, and thus permanent. That difference in cultures were due to underlying, fundamental, and indelible differences in our physical nature. For instance, "Caucasoids" were industrious by nature, and "Mongloids" had choleric blood and were such and such by nature. Suffice it to say that the portryals were always favorable to whites and disparaging of non-whites.

The excuse of the modern racist that they are talking about "culture" not race doesn't fly, since "race" has always been a confusion of the two.

Obama is being treated as less "American" or less "Christian" than a white would be, based solely on his appearance.

Similarly, that people like Pat Buchanan don't *really* believe that non-white people can really become fully "American", even after generations in this country, just shows how they have a hidden theory of biology. That somehow babies are literally born with a certain civic tendency, a work ethic, etc. all based on their skin color.

The point is that "culture" here is being used to mean race. The modern racist talks mostly about defending culture and Kulturkampf. But little has changed, since that is what racism has always been about.

Yes, it Arkansas it seems the Republicans go by the name "Democrat" and the KKK goes by "Republican." Not much of a choice, there.

Of course this neither surprises me nor discourages me from studies in Americanism. It is amazing that today, instead of talking about all the things the President said about health-care last night (about 95% of what he talked about) the MSM seems transfixed with the last question asked to him by Mrs Sweet from one of the Chicago newspapers. So here we have once again another GOP person expressing views that at a minimum seem to encourage civil actions with lines like these, "When I joined the military I took an oath to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign and domestic," Reynolds said. "I never thought it would be domestic, but in today's world I do believe we have enemies here. It's time for people to stand up. It's time for us to speak out."

Just like everyone this gentleman has the right to express his opinions but as someone who seeks to be a leader in his community many one would think that encompassing his skills would be arbitrating difficult issues within the community. I mean who knows, maybe the Catholics in Arkansas have different issues than the Baptist and in cases such as these he would be asked to be a leader and arbitrate an agreed upon comprise by both parties. This guy does not act as if he wants to lead a community made up of different ideas and concerns about issues facing the community he seems concerned with our President and pushing an issue on the community as a whole. That is Fascism or Authoritarianism.

Read "Christian Identity" as "white"
There are a lot of blacks who identify themselves as Christians.
He's not talking to them or about them.

user-pic

Reynolds forgot to mention wearing the white sheets with the pointy hats.

"Christian identity"

Not sure if he means this:

http://www.splcenter.org/intel/map/type.jsp?DT=4

"The Christian Identity religion asserts that whites, not Jews, are the true Israelites favored by God in the Bible. In most of its forms, Identity theology depicts Jews as biologically descended from Satan..."
