Christie TV Ad: "I Put Corrupt Public Officials In Jail"

Former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, the Republican nominee for Governor of New Jersey, has now launched this new TV ad, his first of the general election season:

Pay attention to Christie's opening line: "As U.S. Attorney I put corrupt public officials in jail - Republicans and Democrats." In the wake of yesterday's big corruption raid in New Jersey, this is probably a good pitch for Christie to hold on to swing voters in this heavily Democratic state, and to maintain his big lead in the polls over Dem Gov. Jon Corzine.

I think Christie put away way more Democrats than Republicans. I think I saw data on that ...

Dr. Murray Sabrin stated, "Chris Christie is turning a blind eye to the rampant corruption throughout New Jersey by Republican public officials and political bosses. There is no way Chris Christie can be elected Governor of New Jersey if he continues with this partisan prosecution. New Jersey voters are not looking for a Republican Prosecutor who only investigates Democrats and allows his Republican buddies to get away with 'stealing elections' as their next Governor." Sabrin continued, "Chris Christie had no problem inserting himself into the United States Senate campaign in 2006 by going after the Democratic nominee. We cannot allow the United States Attorney's office to be politicized, whether by Democrats or Republicans. Unfortunately, Chris Christie's actions, or lack thereof, feeds into the electorate's skepticism of politics. It is a shame to tarnish the history of such a remarkable office."

That's interesting. Just this morning, on the news, he said that this is not a political issue. Now he's using it to win office. I'm shocked, just shocked.

Anyone else notice that these guys spent 10 YEARS investigating these crimes before arresting anyone?

Just how much more corruption and damage was done during this time... and how is it that law enforcement must wait this long go get a case?

Sounds as though the more money we pour into crime solving, the fewer crimes are solved and the longer it takes...

seems criminal, to me...
