David Vitter Attacks Someone Else For "LuvFest"

It's often been observed that the essence of politics in the Bush-Cheney-Rove era was to attack your opponent over your own weaknesses, and to campaign on the opponent's own strengths -- for example, the 2004 Republican campaign attacked Vietnam War veteran John Kerry as a military coward, while campaigning on the bravery of an incumbent who got out of combat duty.

In that spirit, take a look at this new Web video from Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), attacking his potential opponent Charlie Melancon, a Blue Dog Democratic Congressman, for raising money in Massachusetts. It's entitled "Liberal LuvFest":

And speaking of love-fests and people doling out cash...David Vitter was identified in 2007 as having slept with prostitutes, and admitted to an unspecified "serious sin."

Well to be fair to Diaper Dave there wasn't any love involved in his trysts with hookers.

It's probably true that there wasn't any love involved for Vitter. More important, though, is that he doesn't know that.

Vitter deserves some credit - not everyone possesses the degree of moral flexibility to stay in office after being exposed like he was. The degree of contempt that he has for his constituents (not answering a single question on the subject to date) helps enable that of course, but it's still not easy to be that shameless.

Google is marvelous. Note the 2007 date.

The so-called D.C. Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey, minced no words in telling INSIDE EDITION what she thinks of Louisiana Senator David Vitter.

"He is a quintessential hypocrite, and a synonym for a hypocrite is a liar."

"The problem here, the sticking point here is the hypocrisy issue. This is a man, perhaps a lovely man in his personal life who has portrayed himself as one thing to the people of Louisiana and is an entirely different thing," Palfrey told INSIDE EDITION's Senior Correspondent Jim Moret.

snip/

"I was not aware that he was the junior Senator of Louisiana," Palfrey told INSIDE EDITION. "Many of my clients often just gave their first names. Rarely did they give their last names and even when they did, it didn't register with me."

Palfrey added that she remembers Vitter as "David from C Street," and said he was an "occasional" customer.

Palfrey says she feels sorry for Vitter's wife and four children, but says she's angry that she's being targeted for prosecution while none of her former clients are, and she says Vitter won't be the last big name to come to come to light.

Vitter lives-lived at "C Street" too ?

user-pic

Yes. Several of our prominent Republican scumbags, er adulterers, er liars live at that "CHURCH" (according to IRS records).

user-pic

What a scumbag. What a smarmy ad.

I want to make ads that slam conservative Republicans for currying the favor and sucking money out of racist, fascist, rightwing, warmonger, gun toting, whore fucking, whores to corporations and violent christian fanatics. That would be great! With bobbing heads and dork music. Seriously, WHO takes this guy seriously?

user-pic

That has to be one of the worst political ads I've ever seen. It's so over the top it's comical.

user-pic

Is Vitter 5 years-old? Even if he hadn't employed a hooker while dressed in diapers, this commercial is an insult to the intelligence of his constituents.

However, perhaps I'm overestimating things. If Vitter is reelected, then apparently nothing is below the intelligence of his constituents.

user-pic

I thought it described the typical Blue Dog pretty accurately.

user-pic

The ad--Bad!
The hookers--Worse!!
The diapers--Priceless!!!

Some Questions for Senator Vitters and his colleagues:

Does the socialist U.S. Senate Health Insurance Plan pay for adult diapers?

Is it legal to write off adult diaper purchases from your income taxes, even if they are medically unnecessary?

How much do you think it costs to have something printed on a diaper? e.g. "Q: What do you call a disgusting mess often found in a diaper? A: Senator David Vitters".
