House Health Care Bill To Be Unveiled At 2:45 PM
Not much more to say beyond the headline. On hand to field questions will be Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House leaders, along with the chairmen of the relevant committees of jurisdiction: Charlie Rangel of Ways and Means; Henry Waxman of Energy and Commerce; and George Miller of Education and Labor.

I hope they have been doing some heavy duty ass kicking of Blue Dogs in the back rooms. These obstructionists need some frequent trips to the woodshed.

If there's no public option, or a damn good non-profit alternative, then it's revolting time!

Just heard on NPR the House bill makes health insurance mandatory, and subsidies to poor folks are paid for by cuts in Medicare and Medicaid. Said insurers will not be able to refuse or raise rates for people with preexisting conditions. No mention of public option.
Will this be the end of the Democratic Party? Stay tuned.

It would certainly be the end of my voting for Democrats, at least unless the Progressive Caucus sticks to its guns and kills the damn thing. I sure hope that story is wrong.

Absolutely, gives Nader an opportunity in 2012.

Oh, definitely Nader! The meglamaniac who brought us Bush in 2000 'cuz sometimes his masturbatory candidacy was just too important to fold up in the closing days?
W. will never forget this, nor Cheney, nor many of the rest of us. I sure never will! When Richard Clarke tried to get the Bushies' attention about terrorism and instead they blew him off (and countless others to chase porn pogroms and missile defense dementia, that's Nader's legacy. That's what Ralph has given to us.
That's what we have to thank him for, 100%.
So totally! Where do I contribute?

Nader was the reason Bush became the Prez? You're giving him too much credit. All this time I thought it was Gore running a bad campaign and Bush stealing the election.

No, it's like I said. The man is a disgrace and we all still pay for his despicable egomania.

Public option, stiff regulations, health records database, and price controls are essential. The party, detrimental to the well-being of so many policyholders, has to end for private health insurers.

Yeah, at the 2 oclock news, NPR changed the wording of their flash on this to report the "creation of a committee to study Medicare and Medicaid" and the establishment of a publicly-funded insurance option.

was that a joke? Seriously for all this talk of revolt against Obama and the other Dems in Congress, why is it that the all so powerful base can't get Nader or Kucinich nominated?

Neither party's base can do that alone. We can get the nominee defeated in the general election, though.
