Limbaugh Warns Against Torture In Wake Of Obama's Election
Check out Rush Limbaugh's latest dire warning about the state of America right now: That the people have been tricked into voting for torture, tyranny and dictatorship, and we can see it slowly encroaching upon us:
"And there are people in this country, who are Americans, and have the same view of totalitarianism that all the worst regimes in the world have had. They just are a minority -- or have been a minority," said Limbaugh. "And they have to be stealth to get anywhere, because who's gonna vote for torture, who's gonna vote for tyranny, who's gonna vote for dictatorship? But we did. We did, and you see it slowly encroaching. And if they could move faster on this, they would."
On the subject of torture, let's take a trip back in time to a little over five years ago, when Limbaugh said this in defense of Abu Ghraib: "I'm talking about people having a good time, these people, you ever heard of emotional release? You ever heard of need to blow some steam off?"

Typo alert: "wehn Limbaugh"

And just think, George W. Bush was a member of a presidential dynasty, had a state-sanctioned torture policy and invaded countries at will. Torture, tyranny and dictatorship anyone?

I had a feeling when he said we voted for torture, he wasn't referring to 2004, when a slight majority of those allowed to vote and have their votes counted voted for Bush despite the rumors of torture being confirmed.

Just remember. According to the NPR ombudsman, the term "torture" depends on who is doing what to whom. So Rush is being perfectly consistent here. What happened at Guatanamo and Abu Ghraid and the Basram airforce base wasn't torture, because that was brave American soldiers defending their country, not sadistically brutalizing human beings.

Good ol boy Rush always sees the "minority" as being the problem.
Seems rush didnt realize that using 40 oxycotins a day was NOT a good diet plan.

Being exposed to the crap spewed by the likes of Limbaugh, Bachmann, Demint, Cheney, and Inhofe often makes me wish I had 40 oxycotins a day.

This is another reason why the Obama administration should be prosecuting those that tortured during the Bush administration.

I'm confused; according to Limbaugh, American torture is a good thing; in fact, it's a lot like a fraternity hazing.
And if anybody could testify to how much fun forced sodomy is, it's Limbaugh.

Interesting that he uses the word "pretense" where a normal person would say "premise"---sounds like a Freudian slip to me. What a sick fuckhead he is.

I feel like Rush is torturing me.

Well, unfortunately, none of these practices has really been reversed, or PROSECUTED. So, yeah, unfortunately I agree.

Agreed. Until we make it clear that torture is a crime and WILL be prosecuted, there's no reason that the current or next president, or his vice president, can't torture also.

We are long past the time to begin a serious boycott of the Limbaugh sponsors and the stations that allow him to spew his vitriol!

Indeed. A list should be started. I know of one that I've boycotted for years precisely because they were/are a Rush sponsor: Autozone.

Rush, Rush, Rush. Calm down, son. Have a nice big fatty 24 oz steak and a big baked potato with butter and sour cream (skimping's for liberals!) Follow it up with some cigars, the more the better.

Let's not forget a fistful of Oxycontin and a gallon or so of fine French champagne to wash tit all down with too. Then he should retire for the evening with a diseased prostitute who insists he ride bareback.

I'm with Al Franken: Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot.
Unfortunately, he is a dangerous idiot. I don't think he really believes all of the garbage that he spews, but some of his listeners believe it just because he says it, and he has them on the verge of hysteria. He is dangerously close to yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater.

Just listening to Limbaugh IS torture! Isn't his show a violation of some humanitarian convention somewhere??

Limbaugh speaks the truth, but he doesn't connect it with the Bush administration or the unwillingness of the Obama administration to prosecute war crimes. He implies it is Obama that is now torturing, because Rush would not criticize a Republican. But the clip doesn't say exactly whom he is talking about. Obama is culpable of not pushing back vigorously on Habeas Corpus suspension, Posse Comitatus violation, illegal wiretapping, CIA secrecy, Imperial hegemony, etc.
Hold Rush to what he says to get a special prosecutor to investigate exactly what he claims is tyranny of the government. I'm 100% behind that. Finally bipartisan agreement on something.
