Obama Will Speak On Health Care At 3:15 ET

In a schedule change, President Obama will give public remarks on health care this afternoon at 3:15 ET in the White House.

Obama's speech, part of his public push for health care reform, is bumping the daily press briefing by Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

Late Update: Although he's replacing the briefing, the president will not be taking questions, the press office tells us.

Bully pulpit time!

Result, bend over time.

Hey, centrist Senators, this way to the woodshed.

Hmmm, this is not very comforting. Anytime it seems like something is failing, he brings it back himself.

The "it's too expensive and if we just wait a few months to sort things out" narrative has gathered a head of steam and is about to derail the reform. I'm glad he's doing this, rather than not addressing it.

Republicans are already calling health care reform Obama's "Waterloo". This footdragging needs to stop.

And the media is very eager to trash talk health care reform.

Any comment someone makes negative is splashed in big headlines, while a-holes like Wolf talk doom and gloom.

The AMA thing yesterday hardly mentioned.

I get the curious feeling that the MSM is salivating over the prospects of destroying health care reform. WTF?

3:15pm on a Friday, the Black Hole of the 24/7 news cycle. Unless he puts on a performance like yesterday's NAACP sermon/speech, not many are going to remember these public remarks on Monday.

Everyday people are dropped from their insurance as they lose their jobs and cannot pay for COBRA- putting their lives in peril.

I'm using my savings money to pay for my insurance- soon it will run out.

This situation is untenable and people are dying every single day because of these delays- this should be the message.

David Schuster and Tamron Hall (MSNBC) will be switching to the White House as soon as it begins.

Just checked, whitehouse.gov says they'll be streaming live.
