Steve King Doesn't Get Palin's Resignation

Here's another Republican who will openly express his puzzlement at Sarah Palin's latest move: Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who doesn't seem to think that Palin has a political future anymore.

"I don't know of anyone who has successfully and voluntarily pulled themselves out of political office and been able to leverage that into more political success," King told The Hill, also adding: "I hope there's something brilliant behind this because she's entirely capable of actually having a grand strategy that the rest of us don't understand."

So think about that: Sarah Palin has managed to do something that even Steve King thinks is odd.

In fairness to Palin (did I just write that?), Steve King doesn't get a lot of things.

Besides, they're operating in parallel universes of crazy. That's no guarantee that they'd understand what the other is saying or doing.

I suspect the only reason he said anything about it at all is that he's jealous of the attention she's getting. That seems to be a common thread with the wingnuttiest of the wingnuts: they can't stand it when someone out-crazies them. Call it Michele Bachmann Syndrome.

Hey, that's a great idea .... let's get Michelle Bachman to explain it to us!!

Just heard (on TiVo) Mark McKinnon describe observing Palin as being like watching a moose on roller skates: "rarely graceful but always riviting."

She can make a lot more money on the wingnut speaking tour than she can as governor. What's so hard to understand?

I believe Josh is right, that she may un-resign a la the wide stance guy and perhaps re-resign all in time for the deadline, end July.

I had a boss do this several times BTW.

I also accept Josh's characterization erratic and probably mentally unstable.

"I hope there's something brilliant behind this because she's entirely capable of actually having a grand strategy that the rest of us don't understand." - - - This is the same thing that was said about McCain's decision to choose her as a running mate. It was so obviously stupid that it had to be genius - NO! a stupid idea is a stupid idea.

Amen, sister.

Palin never really struck me as a strategist, much less a grand one. She seems like someone who writes her speeches in the car ride to the press conference.
