Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) had an amazing moment at a town hall meeting, confronting a woman with an Obama-as-Hitler sign, and who asked Frank why he supported Obama's "Nazi policy" on health care:

Frank, who is a member of at least two groups that the Nazis sent to the death camps -- he is Jewish and gay -- fired back. "On what planet do you spent most of your time?" he asked.

"You stand there with a picture of the President, defaced to look like Hitler, and compare the effort to increase health care to the Nazis. My answer to you is, as I said before, it is a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated."

Wow, a Dem standing up to this "right to riot". Bet you won't see the Jewish Republican stand up for Jewish rights until it's closer to election time. Eric Cantor-what a creep

There are few people I'd be more fearful of getting into a pissing match with than Barney Frank.

I suspect this woman was a LaRouchie, as they are the main ones pushing the "Obama's Nazi Health Care" line. I thought that whacko Lyndon LaRouche was pretty washed up a few years ago, but he seems to be back in force, which means somebody is funding him. I wonder who? A task for some enterprising journalist to investigate.

It never ceases to amaze me that he manages to attract followers, most of them rather young and affluent looking like the woman in the video. What do they see in the guy? He has latched on to one ridiculous hobby horse after the other for more than 30 years now with no discernable political philosophy behind him.

That woman needs a shave and/or mustache wax. Maybe she'd be happy if we made sure that procedure was covered under healthcare reform.

I think you are correct. I saw a still shout outside of the event where Barney was walking by an Obama-as-Hitler poster that included the LaRouched PAC website address. I think she was holding a smaller version of the same sign. The crazies folks at these events are the LaRouchies and Paulites. The angriest are the old folks who want the government to stay out of their Medicare. Combine those two groups together and you've got a whole bunch of stupid.

That woman's eyes are oddly familiar. Those are the same wild eyes as Bachmann and the like.

Thank you, Barney Frank! You said exactly what those people need to hear and in the way it needs to be said.

Now, could you find the time to hold a seminar for your fellow Dems and educate them on the nebulous concepts of common sense and straight talk? They just don't seem to be able to grasp that stuff.

Lesson one: When the person you're trying to talk to is a fucking idiot, don't pretend that their words are pure gold.

So which GOP operative do you think is going to be given the task of demanding an apology from Barney Frank? My bet is on Michelle Bachmann.

Or alternatively, they could just have Bill O'Reilly make a false equivalency argument about how liberals weren't treated this way when they called Bush a Nazi.

And the great thing about Barney is that he'll throw it right back at them. He hasn't minced words when talking about Bachmann before.

There's a vast difference between supporting someone's First Amendment right to spout idiotic lunacy and treating them as though their notions are worthy of serious discussion. Barney Frank is the first elected Democrat I'm aware of to be able to articulate this distinction in a clear, forthright, and entirely memorable fashion.

There's no doubt in my mind that there are plenty of Congressional Democrats who mock Barney's manhood behind his back because he's unapologetically gay. The joke's on them, because he's got bigger balls and a stiffer spine than all the rest of those pathetic cowards put together.

Someone needs to move Barney over the Senate and make him majority leader.
