Birther Site: "Kenyan" Certificate "Probably Not Authentic"
Wow, it's looking like even big-time Birthers don't buy the forged "Kenyan" birth certificate. Check out this new report from World Net Daily -- written up by Jerome Corsi, one of the most prolific Obama conspiracy theorists, no less:
NEW YORK - The Kenyan birth document released by California attorney Orly Taitz is probably not authentic, according to WND's investigative operatives in Africa, though officials in Nairobi do not rule out the possibility President Obama may indeed have been born in their country.
WND obtained several samples of Kenyan birth certificates in use around Aug. 4, 1961, the date of Obama's birth, showing differences from the Taitz document.
Apparently, it turns out that early 1960's Kenyan birth certificates don't look even remotely like birth certificates from Adelaide, Australia.

Not that it matters, see, because when Soetoro adopted Barry he ceased to became an Indonesian citizen, so he is still ineligible to be President. And if you knock that argument down, there is another one waiting in line to pop up.

Whoops. "ceased to became" should just be "became." Poor editing, that.

"Probably not authentic"?
Right.
Just like Orly Taitz is "probably" crazy.

WOW! WND has investigative operatives in Africa? The New York Times better watch out.

Who are these officials in Nairobi who believe President Obama may indeed have been born in their country? And why do they believe this? Wishful thinking?
August 6, 2009 1:15 PM | Reply | Permalink
I noticed that as well. What do you want to bet that "officials in Nairobi do not rule out the possibility..." means that when the WND got through to the asst. secretary to the vice-minister of records, he hung up on the WND reporter mid-way through the asking of the question.

They also do not rule out the possibility that Elvis Presley was born there nor could they rule out the possibility that Obama's mother was actually the Tooth Fairy. Turns out, you can't prove a negative.

Unlikely. That would imply that Kenyan officials ever answered their phones, or were even in their offices, which, based on my experience with Kenyan officials, is untrue.

My favorite phrase "...though officials in Nairobi do not rule out the possibility President Obama may indeed have been born in their country." And they also did not rule out that Anwar Sadat, Kirk Douglas, Marlon Brando, or Marilyn Monroe may indeed have been born there either. These people really keep stretching.

Also not ruled out: Bob "Captain Kangaroo" Keeshan, Johnny "Tarzan" Weismuller, Marion "John Wayne" Morrison and, of course, Chuck Norris.

Also not ruled out: Sara "Wasilla Hillbilly" Palin, Roy "Niangua" (now that sounds like he's from Kenya fer sure) Blunt, Michele "Anoka" (now that sounds like she's from Kenya fer sure 2) Bachmann, Dick (distantly related to BHO) Cheney.

You mean teabagger thugs buy and use a product designed, built and sold from a lefty place like the Bay Area, by a company Al Gore is on the board of, and who supports equal rights for gays?

Good point.
Guess the secret's out.
ACORN has installed special software which identifies teabag Patriots and uses the GPS function to report location so that the user can be identified for transport to one of the secret ACORN re-education camps funded by the stimulus.
Damn Biden needs to get those bucks out into the field

WND investigative operatives .... oh, my sides. Can you just imagine what brand of gutter dwellers WND would employ as "investigative operatives?" I wonder how much they have to pay bail bondsmen every year.
When will someone do a book about Corsi, et. al. and finally relegate them to the trash heaps they so richly deserve?

I'm kind of HOPING Chuck Norris was born there. That might get rid of him in short order. At least in terms of endorsing presidential candidates. He can still do his infomercials for fitness crap though.

I just looked at the WND story. Oh my god, how this guy calls himself a journalist is beyond me.
"But an authentic 1961-era Kenyan birth certificate obtained by WND shows distinct differences," Corsi scribbles. Distinct differences? How about they're not anywhere near the same! Talk about understatement.
"Kenyan government officials interviewed by WND sources in Kenya ..." Corsi vomits. Unnamed government officials "interviewed" by unnamed WND "sources." Can you get any murkier? I mean, could there be any less chance of verification?
And now, WND presents information debunking the Taitz document that has been on the Internet for a week, only WND presents it as though it has just been discovered:
"... a key difference in the Taitz document. In 1961, Mombasa was a part of Zanzibar, not the Coast Province of Kenya. The area was later ceded to Kenya.
Moreover, the African nation was the Dominion of Kenya until December 1964, after declaring independence in 1961. Kenya was not officially the Republic of Kenya until some 10 months after the Feb. 17, 1964, date on which the Taitz document purportedly was certified. "
No shit! We've been saying that for days, you morons!
Seriously, the Left needs to get MUCH more aggressive in dealing with these Right-wing hacks. Third-hand information from anonymous sources? Really, Farah and Corsi? Really?

I graduated high school with Joe Farrah. He was a leftist radical (in the '70s, when the movement had already faded), which demonstrates, imo, that a person's politics is often more reflective of their personal psychology than fealty to any particular ideology.

Actually a good number of the neo-con right started out as far-left radicals, some even Trotskyist such as Irving Kristol (often dubbed the godfather of neoconservatism and father of Bill Kristol).

You realize, of course, that this won't deter them in the least. There is no irrefutable evidence, no reliable authority, and certainly no amount of common sense and just plain logic that will change the birthers' minds. Anything and everything that contradicts their conspiracy theories is just another part of the conspiracy.
Taken to its logical extent, every person in the world is in on it. I know I am.

Corsi seems to pull most of his info from those operatives.
