Burris Now Won't Rule Out Running For Senate In 2010
Sen. Roland Burris (D-IL), who last month said he won't run for his Senate seat in 2010, seems to have changed his tune.
"You never say never," he told ABC News.
"What I'm still hearing," Burris said, is "people from all over the country and they are saying, 'Don't give up that seat.'"
Burris was appointed by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who was thrown out after allegedly trying to sell the seat vacated by President Obama.
Burris has raised very little money so far, and polls consistently show him losing the Democratic primary.

Why am I not surprised? No harm, I guess, in him indulging in this fantasy for a while.

Yeah, he's hearing Blago saying, "Don't give up that seat. SELL IT!!!"

People from all over the country? How about people from Illinois, who should be the only people who matter to him. Last I heard, there were no senators at large; I sure don't get to vote in Illinois, seeing as I have this New York address and all.

Oh, FFS. As an Illinoisan it really burns my butt that Burris is wasting everybody's time and bolstering the Senate hopes of the GOP with this nonsense. His stupid shenanigans have already made it actually possible that a Republican could win the seat - and this in a state where the GOP was in such a sorry state a few short years ago that the only candidate they could find to run against Obama for the Senate was Alan Freaking Keyes.

I wonder how many of those "people from around the country" are named "Burris."
