RNC Targets Blue Dogs In New Radio Ads
The Blue Dogs just can't get a break. In addition to facing rhetorical fire from the left -- that is, from liberals who think they're too conservative on health care -- they're now facing fire from the right, in a new wave of radio ads from the Republican National Committee.
The new radio ads are targeting the four Blue Dog Congressmen who helped advance the health care bill out of committee: Bart Gordon (TN), Zack Space (OH), Baron Hill (IN) and Mike Ross (AR).
"[Congressman NAME] could have stopped the expensive Obama-Pelosi health care plan dead in its tracks," the announcer says. "[Congressman NAME] held a vote that counted. But instead of using that vote to help taxpayers, [Congressman NAME] used it to help Obama and Pelosi."
The Mike Ross version is available here. The full script is available after the jump.
Comic Voice: "He folded like a lawn chair."
Voice: "[Congressman NAME]."
Comic Voice: "He threw in the towel."
Voice: "[Congressman NAME] did exactly what Nancy Pelosi wanted him to do."
Comic Voice: "He caved in. He buckled."
Voice: "[Congressman NAME] was one of just four congressmen who cast the deciding votes to advance Nancy Pelosi's radical big government health care plan...[Congressman NAME] backed a plan that will cost taxpayers billions....just days after talking like he wouldn't."
Comic Voice: "He flipped. He flopped. He rolled over."
Voice: "[Congressman NAME] could have stopped the expensive Obama-Pelosi health care plan dead in its tracks. [Congressman NAME] held a vote that counted. But instead of using that vote to help taxpayers, [Congressman NAME] used it to help Obama and Pelosi."
Voice: "It's big government. It's big money. And it'll hit you where it hurts."
Comic Voice: "Ouch!"
Voice: "Call [Congressman NAME] at 202-225-3121. Tell him to stop voting with Nancy Pelosi."

I wonder if the blue dogs are satisfied now with their decision to help delay health care until after the August break. They set themselves up for all this and they are getting what they deserve. Turncoats.

No doubt they're calling up Sen. Vitter and asking if he'll share his Depends as we speak.

I guess all the Blue Dogs can do now is to collectively declare their doubts about Obama's true citizenship, announce their intent to eliminate Medicare and Social Security, and threaten secession if MoveOn won't stop being mean to them. That'll be sure to make the GOP love them.

Maybe we should send them some teabags.

My reaction to this is like the schadenfreude you experience when your GF/BF/spouse dumps you for somebody else and then you see them together and they're screaming at each other, about ready to pull the knives out.

That's what you get for trying to have it both ways.

"It's not illegal to attack first."
Yes it is. The oath you have to take to join the Democratic Party specifically states:
"If attacked by a Republican, I promise to not respond before 7 days have passed, and that my statement will be a sternly-worded letter sent by third-class mail on a steamer sailing around Cape Horn. I also promise to never attack a Republican first, even if said Republican is a convicted pedophile, tax cheat, and Islamocommunofascist spy, because that would be mean and unfair. If I am a decorated member of the United States military, I will allow my draft-dodging Republican opponent to smear my patriotism without ever mentioning his failure to serve himself, because pointing that out would displease Harry Reid."
