Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) is one of the latest members of Congress to have a run in with anti-health care reform protesters.
The encounter in the video took place last week after Baucus spoke at a preventive care conference in Bozeman, Montana. According to the New York Times, Baucus described the protesters as "agitators, whose sole goal was to intimidate, disrupt and not let any meaningful conversation go on."
There were a couple of people in the crowd "with YouTubes," Mr. Baucus added (meaning cameras), and he posited that the agitators were paid and probably from out of state.
No confirmation on whether any of the protesters came from out of state--though other anti-health care reform protesters haven't been shy about the fact that they don't just target their own representatives. And sure enough, one of the people with Youtubes put his footage on the Internets, and it's now accessible to everyone via the Google.

These anti-healtcare reform nutbags are too stupid to realize they shouldn't be targeting Baucus. He's on their side!
Idiots!

Yeah, what you said.
Given that, I wonder why there hasn't been an anti-teabag group targeting people like Max asking him how he sleeps at night.

People "with YouTubes"?? I mean, I knew Max was a drooling moron, but jeez. I guess YouTubes are what you use to inject videos into the InterTubes.

And they're gonna take those youtubes straight to the internets!
Hopefully Max's encounter with the irrational bullies will inspire some better effort from him.

Actually, he will probably use them to reinforce what he's already trying to do. You watch; he'll be on the floor next month talking about how people are all up in arms about the Public Option and this is why we can't pass it.

Actually, it's good to see Max call these idiots "agitators" rather than cave and say that they are simply good Americans expressing their opinion in a civil manner.
New Rasmussen poll shows that support for the reform plan actually drops when the public option is removed. Most of that movement, of course, comes from Dems. The strong support from Dems drops from 44 to 12(!!) if the public option is drop. Even indies, albeit by a small number, like the plan less if there is no public option.

YouTube must be missing out on a new marketing angle. They should be selling "YouTubes"
Better still, integrate the Second Amendment's right to bear arms and you have the ZapCam. Check it out on the Internets:

Poor, poor Max Baucus. He's just trying to justify his 4.4 million dollar take from the insurance industry by torpedoing reform. And what does he get for it? Crazies armed with YouTubes.

Is Barney Frank the only DEM left with a backbone? He needs to be telling the White House how to handle these disrupters. Why show respect to anyone or try to answer anyone who is a blatant agitator. Call them what they are, WHACKOS!!!

I am sorry but there was a person there who when Baucus said that Health-care cost were going to represent close to half a person wages, they shouted "fine, keep it there". Are you frickin serious? What are these people smoking because all of America needs some of that! If health-care cost make up half my wages and taxes make up another third, then I will be taking home 17%, right. These people are afraid of socialized countries, what they hell do they think a 83% (federal taxes + Healthcare costs) tax would be then. There is no socialized democracy in the world who taxes at that high a rate. Oh and to the guy who at the end said that "I just want to know that the best health-care in the world will be fine after Congress gets done with it" Where the hell is he getting that statistic from? Does he have anything to back this up? There is no doubt that our vibrant capitalist health-care industry produces great medicine and great doctors but it also produces bad medicines and bad doctors. Overall I have not read any summary of US health-care which puts it above most of the social democracies when it comes to delivering health-care.

I am ashamed to have Baucus as my senator. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and apart from two years practicing law has sucked at the public tit his whole life. I am appalled that people in Montana are so incredibly stupid. I don't know where that was but Helena is very democratic leaning, and this sort of thing would have been strongly countered with progressive views. Of course he wouldn't agree with them either. Blech.

It's awfully difficult to have a discussion with (much less attempt to persuade) people who're already convinced that all things American are already the best and any change only represents a move towards a lesser alternative.
