Weekly Standard Blogger Says Swastika Vandalism At Dem's Office Could Be "Fake Hate Crime"

The Weekly Standard's John McCormack has an interesting take on the swastika that was painted on the main sign at Rep. David Scott's (D-GA) district office: That it's most likely a "fake hate crime," a hoax perpetrated a Scott supporter.

McCormack wrote a blog post called "Beware of Fake Hate Crimes," saying: "It's possible that a neo-Nazi actually vandalized Rep. Scott's offices. But given the fact that the Nazi imagery so neatly dovetails with the left's smearing of health-care protesters as fascists, isn't it more likely that this act of vandalism was committed by one of Scott's supporters?"

Of course, the Nazi imagery is now a part of a right-wing smear campaign, and was introduced into the debate by Rush Limbaugh and others. But, hey, this is still an open case that is being investigated by the authorities, so who knows?

When asked for comment by TPM, Scott's press assistant Jennifer Wright was a bit taken aback -- but mainly amused. "Personally I think it's funny that he thinks a David Scott supporter put the swastika on the sign," said Wright, "especially given what's been happening in the media with the Congressman."

You. Have. Got. To. Be. Kidding.

Yeah, the Left is providing the Nazi signage to the anti-reform groups.

Why? Was it a fake swastika? Give us a break!

user-pic

Well, it certainly wasn't very well executed. It looks like someone started trying to spraypaint an insult that began with the letter "S" but then saw he'd gotten it crooked and tried to save the effort by converting it into a swastika.

Yes, of course. It all makes sense now. Liberals. They must be the ones behind the recent rash of swastika grafitti. Mostly likely, they're the ones maxing out the Secret Service's ability to track the threatening mail to the White House as well. Most likely it was liberals who've been packing heat at the town halls in an attempt to discredit the teashirt patriots.

user-pic

Well, Jonah Goldberg did argue that liberals were fascists, so it all sorta makes sense.

A gig at the Weakly SubStandard is just about all that loser John McCormack is worth.

I guess this guys memory is about as good as Karl Rove's regarding the attorney firing, how can he forgot the fake "O" carved into that girls (aggie) head during the Obama campaign? Have you seen the video of that guy that supposedly got assaulted by a SEIU guy, it sure looks like a whole lotta nothing to me? If any party is defined by melodrama right now, the GOP and its base has it in spades.

Denial, denial, denial.

Are you kidding me? Libs are notorious for fake hate.
* Fake noose on Columbia professors door
* Fake "Hate Muslims? So Do We!!!" at George Washington Iniversity
* Duke rape case, and of course
* Harvard Professor yelling racism

These are just a few more reasons the left has ever dwindling credibility. I have little doubt this is just another example.

Go kill yourself.

must be like that time the wacked mccain supporter faked getting attacked by an obama-ite.

I KNEW it

The Hammer and Sickle is our ensign

The Nazi imagery so neatly dovetails with the right's smearing of healthcare supporters as fascists, too. We can only assume that a crazy from each side drew half of this swastika and met in the middle. Sort of like that spaghetti scene in "Lady and the Tramp".
