On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh lambasted Republicans for condemning Rep. Joe Wilson's (R-SC) outburst of "You lie!" during President Obama's speech last night -- and even said he wished Wilson hadn't apologized:
"That was a blatant lie. I'm gonna tell you something. I've -- one of the things that's really irritated me all morning and last night, was listening to Republicans, even after wilson has apologized -- and I wish he had not. But he's apologized, and even after he's apologized, members of his own party are all over television denigrating him."
Does this mean Wilson will now have to apologize to Limbaugh for the apology to Obama?

I'm sorry. Which Republicans "condemned" Wilson?
The Republicans I've seen interviewed today certainly didn't "condemn" him.

Arlen Specter? lol
Lindsey Graham did briefly call Wilson's comment "inappropriate", immediately before condemning the tone of Obama's in much stronger and unambiguous terms.

Exactly.
The only Republican who "condemned" Wilson, that I know of, was John McCain. Everyone else has said, in effect, "Well, it was inappropriate, but President Obama started it!!! Neener neener!"
I'm disappointed with TPM for implying that Republicans have "condemned" Wilson.

And the Associated Press has an articled headlined "Both sides condemn Wilson". The only Republican quoted was John McCain. John Boehner declined to comment
But MSM is treating this as if Republicans are "condemning" Wilson.
Jesus.

Until today, no Republican ever had to apologize to anyone but to Limbaugh. A South Carolina Republican now apologizing to Pres. Obama, of all people, is immeasurably humiliating for the GOP's true leader.

I wish you didn't have a show Rush. Unfortunately reality barges in on our lives from time to time, unwelcome as it may be.
