The Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and Democracy for America have launched the below ad in Montana and Washington, D.C., hitting Senate Finance Committee chairman Max Baucus for blocking a public option from his health care reform bill.
The ad is the latest in a bid to personalize the politics of the public option. Last week, the two groups targeted Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME) for opposing a public option with a similar ad.
Tomorrow, the Finance Committee will resume consideration of reform legislation, and have a chance to vote on a number of public option amendments, including one, authored by Snowe, that would affix the public option to a "trigger mechanism"--a plan viewed with suspicion by most reformers.

I just chipped in $30. This one is important. Baucus has been the point man on the sabotage efforts. He needs to be shown that people are paying more attention that he thought.

Elected reps should schedule a Free Health Clinic to coincide with their Town Hall Meetings. It is easy for a handful of TeaBaggers to shout down a single speaker. Maybe not so easy when there are thousands of others present who understand the need for a public option. I suspect that many TeaBaggers do not have health insurance... wonder what side they would take at such an event...

Like Baucus will ever have to worry about a job again, he and his kids will all be getting lifetime appointments to THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY in exchange for his letting a wellpoint exec write the bill.
I hope he and his suffer long debilitating illness without hope of help...just like he wants for us.
