The White House has released a pair of public service announcements on the importance of education, tying into President Obama's upcoming back-to-school message next week -- the one that right-wingers are attacking as an example of socialist indoctrination.
Here's the first one, with Obama saying he wouldn't have been at his inauguration ceremony, if he hadn't been at his graduation ceremony first:
There's also another PSA featuring a bunch of popular NASCAR drivers, a sport we usually associate with the Republican-leaning parts of America. Check it out after the jump.

Who would have thought that all of those NASCAR drivers were socialists. You learn something new every day.

The White House has obliged GOP critics and released the full text of the speech in advance.
Really, for something influenced so heavily by Arne Duncan, it's not nearly as bad as I would have thought.

88,99,42,24, 14? Is there a Socialist message in those numbers? I must get out my secret decoder ring.

just goes to show that Socialists can't count, and Obama is trying to corrupt our youth by indoctrinating to be unable to count in a non-Socialist manner.
and for the record, I'm a big NASCAR fan. I think I may be the only NASCAR-watching TPM reader in the country, which I think makes me pretty special.

I don't get it, are they THAT crazy that they see "socialism" in a PSA telling kids to stay in school? (Maybe because it's for PUBLIC schools.) I have yet to see the full text of the speech, but the one line I heard that was a bone of contention seemed pretty innocuous: asking kids how they could "help the President"-- this is only contentious because Obama is widely accepted by conservatives as a "socialist", so it must have some secret socialist message, despite there being NO socialist message (secret or otherwise). If Bush had asked kids how they could help him, would there have been contention from liberals? I don't know, but unless he also specified something like "help the president by watching your Muslim classmates and neighbors closely" I doubt it.
What if the right were talking about Obama being a "vampire" instead of a socialist, and he asked kids to "eat right and exercise?" Would they be claiming "he wants healthy blood!!!"
