In a new web ad from Rep. Joe Wilson's (R-SC) re-election campaign, his wife defends his passion and work ethic, but confessed calling the heckler a "nut."
"I said, 'Joe, who's the nut that hollered out, "You lie?"' Roxanne Wilson says in the ad. "And he goes, 'It was me' .... I couldn't believe that Joe would say that. But he is very passionate."
She attributed the outburst to the anger her husband had seen "in the trenches" at health care town halls. She said she appreciated President's Obama graciousness in accepting Joe Wilson's apology.
She also recounted when she met her husband, at "teenage Republican camp" in 1966.

There's something surreal about the fact that Joe the Jerk Wilson thinks it's appropriate to include images of Obama as Mrs. Wilson is saying positive things about Obama.
Huh?
Maybe all that "support" he claims he's getting isn't so strong after all?

It's a visual apology -- underhanded, of course: he is greedy (member of the "Greed is God" party) for relection, so trying to show that he's an upstanding and open-minded non-nut.
But if his wife has known him since 1966, and saw such behavior as "nut," and then found out there was a side of her husband she hadn't seen before -- that of uncontrolled "nut" -- then he is obviously too dangerous to be allowed near Congress without being gagged and handcuffed.

The first smart thing Joe Wilson has done is let his wife talk. She seems like a nice lady who really loves her husband. His district would be better represented by her.

Yeah: it shows him as being of positively disposed toward the Afrian-American president in one of the most racsit states in the country. That might appeal to those who won' vote for him -- Democrats -- but it's a stupid move regarding voters in his own distrct.
And he's against the public option, which most of his constituents are for.

OMG.. There are teenage Republican camps in SC? Now I can see why they have the quick trigger on "indoctrination". The guilty dog barks first.

He doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting in congress? What treatment is that? The $1.5 million his opponent raised? The polls that say even most of his local supporters think he made a boneheaded move?

And a USA Today poll fnds 68 per cent across the country disapprove of his conduct. And the SC tourism folks are being inundated with emails and phone calls from irate folks saying: "I'll never again vacation in SC!" And SC has an unemployment rate, as it is, of 11 per cent.

There's an ad that says "Joe Wilson is under attack. He needs your help. Click here" on the front page of TPM. I really appreciated the irony of Joe Wilson having to pay TPM money so I clicked on it. Then bam herpes.

Hiding behind his wives skirt. I thought repubs only did that when caught in the men’s room offering not-homo homosexual acts or after they got caught hiking the ole Appalachian trail.

Why is it that Wilson's DC office phone continues to go unanswered and his House web page does nothing more than re-direct one to a 'biography' of the Congressman?
I live in the 1st District of SC (Henry Brown, ouch...but he has better manners than Wilson). I think I still have the right to call this asshole out. I'm going to try next one of his state offices.

A teenage Republican camp -- in South Carolina in 1966? She might as well have said she met him at a Klan rally.

doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting?
he's a jackass/corporate whore who refuses to apologize to his fellow House members for violating the rules.
what happens if you violate the rules at Republican Camp? Let's say you call the camp's Chief Indoctrinator a liar and refuse to apologize to your fellow indoctrinee's for disrupting the propaganda.
i assume you get sent home. or maybe not. perhaps it's their first taste of IOKIYAR.
a lot of people just want to send Joe home, Mrs. Wilson, but I can understand why YOU want him to stay...

A truly repentant person should not mind repeating an apology, especially to the congressional colleagues he embarrassed by his rudeness. This man acts like a pouty bully whose teacher made him say I'm sorry to the other kid he just pummeled on the playground. Guess they didn't teach dignity at camp. I'm certain I was having a lot more fun in 1966 than I would have had at Republican Camp, and I somehow still learned to clean up after myself.

Dignity (Republican Christianist definition) - Maintaining your dignity means never saying you're sorry for anything you did, because if you did it, it's the right thing to do. No matter who you hurt, because they're probably just some liberal wuss who takes Jesus' nonviolent teachings seriously.

Excuse me, Roxanne, you seem like a nice woman, but tell me, please, just why doesn't Joe deserve to be admonished by the House? He embarrassed his colleagues who were hosting the Senate and the Administration, showed his ass and his bigotry at the same time. He's an idiot.

His real name is Addison Graves Wilson. I guess he goes by Joe to sound less Waspy or plantation owner. While the first and middle names remind one of medical conditions of JFK and Barbara Bush, it appears that the Congressman's medical condition is one of foot in mouth disease.

One thng I noticed about the photos with his son in the military uniform is the background picture.....The Ospry one of the most useless dangerous and money sucking debacles in the history of military procurement. I think it has been in production for about 25 years now and is still not deployed for use. There have been mulitiple crashes costing the lives I think of over fifty soldiers. He must be gettting alot of cash for some aspect of the useless piece of crap Osprey! I think it may have been canceled but only this year.
