Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has a bold declaration for her enemies at MSNBC: She doesn't even know a thing about you.
"Quite honestly I don't even know anything about MSNBC," Bachmann told conservative bloggers at the Heritage Foundation, the Washington Independent reports. "It's not a network that I watch, and most of the American people agree with that assessment. They aren't watching it either. And that's why Fox's ratings -- I mean, it's like, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC combined. I think Fox even exceeded one of the major networks last week. They're on the ascendency."
Michele Bachmann doesn't know anything about MSNBC? That's odd, since that's the channel where she went on an infamous McCarthyist rant a year ago against Barack Obama and the Democrats -- even going so far as to attack Obama for his association with his wife -- which caused tons of donations to come in for her opponent and nearly cost her the election.

Sigh.
Just have the headline read: "Bachmann: I don't even know anything." And call it a day.
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.

Yep.
Bachmann: "I don't even know anything about _______." Insert anything you want into the blank, and the statement will always be true.

Bachmann, Palin, Taitz. That we talk about these three as though they were worthy of all the attention gives me great anxiety about the intellectual health of this country. Are they more than just a three car accident on the side of the interstate or are they 3 horsemen of the political apocalypse?

I refuse to look at car accidents but those three women make me look every time. I am absolutely fascinated with the stupid things they say. I wonder why someone near to them doesn't help them by sewing their mouths shut while they sleep. They must not have anyone that cares. And then, even more amazing after all these months, there are those that support them. I think about that group a lot. What is wrong with them? Were they fed Twinkies and Hohos as children and never developed properly? Can they not read? Why Why Why?

That doesn't speak well for someone who has three media people on her congressional staff. Either they really suck at their job, or Bachmann is lying. Hmmm, which is it?

You notice that right-wing authoritarians can never resist the opportunity to gloat about things. I mean, who other than junior-high school kids and sociopathic adults go (essentially) "NYAH NYAH, MY SIDE WON, NYAH NYAH..."?
Just more evidence that Republicans are assholes... *and* bad for America, since they don't care about America, only their own tribe...

Sociopaths make the best politicians and corporate leaders. Not caring about the people is an incredibly useful personality trait when you're managing them.

Not to mention the volumes it speaks about Bachmann that she's got these ratings statistics memorized, ready to pull out as if they meant something.
The reporter should have responded, "Fox News has the highest ratings... doesn't that mean it's just an entertainment channel and not really news?"

Or, "If MSNBC is so inconsequential, why do you know where it stands in the ratings?"

Just because Fox News' target base can all afford TVs and cable doesn't make them popular, it just makes them elitist.
If you're interested you should read how these stats are collected:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nielsen_ratings
Basically it's up to someone offering to journal their viewing habits or opt in to have a set top box transmit their viewing data back to Nielsen. Because of this, not only do you not have a random sample, you have a significant bias inherent in every report, because they know what they're participating in and why. Minorities have been historically underrepresented (although, to their credit, it was actually News Corp that brought them to court in 2006 over this and it's supposed to get better) and you can imagine that the sampled audience are all of a relatively similar socioeconomic status.

Then Bachmann added, 'Did you know John D. Rockefeller was a communist? I learned that from watching FOX.'

Don't get it twisted. Even when the economy totally collapse 20 percent of america STILL thought bush was doing a fine job. 20 percent of 300 millin is 60 million you only need HALF OF ONE PERCENT OF THOSE PEOPLE to watch fox daily for it to dominate ratings.

Persons in that demographic probably watch more TV. Wouldn't that skew the numbers toward Fox?

The only reason MSNBC has low ratings is because FOX is part of the basic package of the cable providers where as MSNBC is only for much more costly plans.
Go to Dish networks and check out their offering.. Check the others.

I like how she says that she doesn't watch MSNBC and that most Americans "agree with that assessment." Right. Most Americans agree with her assessment that she doesn't watch MSNBC. Listening to her speak hurts my brain. I only wish I could stop.
