In an interview on the local radio show Doc & Grace in the Morning, Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) explained that his comments about Republicans have been twisted into meaning that they somehow want Americans to die -- when the real truth is that they don't care.
"You know, this is being transmogrified into something else," Grayson complained. "Honestly, the people I deal with, the people I actually am across the aisle with every day, I don't think they care about ordinary people. I don't think that the Republicans in Congress actually have a heart. I'll be honest with you."
"But that's not the same as saying that they want you -- I mean, let's get straight what I said," he explained. "I said their health care plan is 'don't get sick,' and if you do get sick, then die quickly. And what did I mean by that? Because if you get sick and those bills are mounting, and you're in the hospital and you're feeling weaker and weaker, and you've got no way to pay for this, then what are they gonna do for you? Nothing. They're gonna do nothing."

Indeed. Quotable. True. And sets the opposition back on their heels.

As a Canadian, I used to visit Florida with fair regularity, until I made a wrong turn getting off the turnpike on day. Within minutes I was chased down by a police car-I had only traveled maybe 400 yards, which tells me he must have been sitting there waiting for someone to make that error, as it must have happened many times before -. He came at me with this huge rifle and asked threateningly, "Is this how you drive in Canada". Suffice it to say, I have never visited that state again.

I used to live in Florida but I moved away in 1987. I used to think I'd move back in a heartbeat, but that was before the 2000 elections. Never again.

This guy was dead-on-the-money correct in calling our healthcare system a small-h "holocaust", despite Maddow bullying him about it. 44,000 dead Americans who were simply unprofitable, die, year in and year out. Thorough bad genes or bad luck or bad timing, they find themselves uninsurable, and are left to die, while CIGNA CEOs take home tens of millions of dollars for successfully denying these people life. Grayson didn't compare it to the big-H "Holocaust". He called it what it is by Webster's own definition.
And it must end. NOW.

Bear in mind that the high ground is very useful, and those holding it tend to win whatever engagements they are in.
Mind you, it's best for firing artillery and suppressing fire. But there are metaphorical versions of those as well, they just need to be deployed.
