Apparently there's no room left for subtlety in the fight against AHIP. Meet Patriot Baby, the new hero of health insurance industry opponents:
Americans United For Change is behind the video, the first in series targeting Republicans and health care reform opponents over prenatal and child care. The next will feature Patriot Baby setting his sights on Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ).
The series' creator/producer, Dan Manatt, said he offered us info on the ads on "Baby Background": The identity of the baby starring in the series is top secret, but he he did offer TPMDC exclusive info on the rest of the cast.
Patriot Baby is voiced by AUC's Jeremy Funk. His mouth is played by Mannatt's 7 year old nephew, Patrick Anders.
"In a screen test, I had him say 'Republicans - meet your worst nightmare,'" Mannatt said. "Which he did with gusto."

That needed to come with a warning label. Seriously.
The stupid must be contagious.
Although I will say that the crying Glen Beck at the end was pretty funny.

These people must be working for the insurance industry. That's how bad this ad is. Good grief.

There have already been some great ads, both for reform and against the insurance companies. It figures that someone would come along and screw up the message with a dumb one like this.
Please. Leave it to the pros.

I guess the only positive thing I can find in this ad is that you have to see the really, really bad to understand what it means to be a good ad. This one sets a lower level standard to be avoided at all costs.
Keep ads like this on the original computer. Don't post them. This one cannot stand exposure to light.
