A very interesting name pops up on the management and strategy team for Gov. Tim Pawlenty's (R-MN) new political action committee, which is widely seen as a preliminary step for a presidential campaign: Sara Taylor, a former top aide to Karl Rove, who resigned her position during the U.S. Attorney scandal.

Taylor's testimony during the U.S. Attorney hearings sure was interesting. When confronted with the fact that she'd conducted official government business through a private RNC e-mail account, she explained that it was more "efficient" than using both the RNC e-mail and the government e-mail. In addition, Taylor refused to answer many questions, citing executive privilege, and for other questions said she couldn't recall the answers:"I can't remember what I had for breakfast last week."

But her single most famous moment was when Sen. Pat Leahy (D-VT) caught Taylor saying she made an oath to the President -- as opposed to saying she made an oath to the Constitution:

One of the consquences of the Obama DOJ not going after all those loyal Bushies who "disregarded" laws and rules, perjured themselves, etc.. is that they will remain in politics and return in a future administration even more revenge minded than before. Considering what they've done in the past, it's safe to say their future political behavior will again be guided by blind political loyalty and ambition.

That's one of my biggest disappointments about this administration. I think Obama's getting some bad advice from the centrists. Bill Clinton let the Iran-Contra crooks off the hook and they came back and haunted us throughout the Bush regime. One of the biggest reasons for me choosing Obama over Hillary was that I thought he'd be less likely to let the Bush crime syndicate go unpunished.

Forget payback. This is about a) applying the rule of law to everyone, and setting a precedent, and b) keeping the lawbreakers from coming back and doing even more damage in the future. Why is that so hard to understand, Rahm?

Oy -- she doesn't look like she's feeling too well. I guess she's just read about the GOP's standing in the polls. Or the Botox wore off already, or...??

Her being from Iowa may have something to do with Pawlenty trying to out organize Palin and Huckabee in that state's early caucus.

Rove's assistant? Why would TPaw want her on his non-campaign? Does he need someone with experience in fixing elections? Or will she be serving the crumpets at his T Pawties?
