Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN), a potential presidential candidate, is starting to sound an awful lot like he could end up endorsing Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in the NY-23 special election -- saying that he'ss "concerned" about moderate Republican Dede Scozzafava's positions.
Yesterday, Pawlenty had simply said that he didn't know anything about the race. Now it's quite different, as ABC News reports:
Pawlenty, who's widely mentioned as a possible 2012 presidential candidate, said he will "probably" make an endorsement in the race -- and sounded as if he's poised to support Hoffman over Scozzafava.
"As a conservative I'm concerned about some of the alleged issue positions that she holds," said Pawlenty, R-Minn. "I want to be fair to both candidates and look at their records. But there are some things that [I] have been told that you know, she holds dear, that may not be consistent with conservative principles."

At this point, "conservative principles" is an oxymoron.

I'm still confused about what the word "conservative" means to the repukes of 2009. The b-movie actor, insanity, lush, train wreck beck are definitely not conservative based on the generally accepted definition of the word by people with 1/2 a brain. They are radical neanderthals, not conservative.
A 2009 "conservative" believes in growing the wealth of the super rich, trouncing on women's rights, getting in people's bedrooms and monitoring their conduct, violating people's rights to privacy, having the government intrude in people's daily lives, shoveling money to military contractors, keeping people dumbed down by evicerating education, preventing people from voting, etc., etc., etc. How are any of these positions "conservative"? I really don't get it.

Thanks for the link. The dems really are more conservative than the repukes, by a mile.

Oh, c'mon kittie, it's obvious!
Is a Republican in the White House?
- If Yes, deficit spending = OK / If No, deficit spending = Bad
- If Yes, Wall St. bailout = OK / If No, Wall St. bailout = Bad
- If Yes, criticism of the president = Bad / If No, criticism of the president = OK
Got it??

I was trying to come up with one on the theme of *adultery* (bad for Clinton, OK for Sanford / Ensign / Vitter / Gingrich / etc.) but couldn't quite work out the "who occupies the White House" logic... :-\

That damn Sanford blew the trend. Otherwise, you'd be good to go. If a Republican is in the WH, adultery is an understandably unfortunate situation. Otherwise, it's IMPEACHABLE.

Tim Pawlenty - the only time he pulls his finger out of his ass is when he uses it to sample which way the political breezes are moving.
Mitt Romney Lite - less Mormon AND less charisma!
