The 60 Plus Association has a message for those participating in the next phase of the health care debate in Washington: "Senators Beware!!!"
60 Plus, the self-proclaimed "conservative alternative to the AARP," promises to go after Senators who vote for a health care bill that includes the changes to Medicare funding found in the House version of the bill. To prove its threats aren't idle ones, the group launched a TV ad campaign today aimed at Democratic Representatives who voted for the bill in the House Saturday night.
"I have a warning for Congress," 60 Plus president Jim Martin said in a statement. "There is a senior citizen tsunami flooding towards the halls of Congress, unless it subsides, they can expect their offices to be flooded with angry voices."
The $1.5 million ad campaign targets 15 Democratic Representatives in swing districts across the country. Like other conservative groups, 60 Plus is hoping the health care vote will cost swing Democrats their seats next year. The seniors group is focusing on Medicare funding found in the bill, which Republicans claim Democrats cut in cahoots with the AARP.
One target is North Dakota Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D), who national Republicans plan to target next year. Here's a look at the ad 60 Plus is running against him:

Is this the same 60 Plus Association that receives over 90% of its revenues from the pharmaceutical industry? The same astroturf group headed by Richard Viguerie disciple Jim Martin that gave George W. Bush his first job in politics? That "non-partisan" 60 Plus Association?

That advertisement makes little sense. The 60 Plus Association doesn’t want health care reform because it cost too much and don’t mess with my state sponsored Medicare. Medicare has been a target for the right for years and now they are making a backhanded attempt to protect it. What happened?

does it matter?
the dems shot themselves in the head because they refused to stick together and pass a bill for the people.
the whole thing has been a mess and everyone besides people like us that spend to much time online are confused to what the bill is or will finally be.
they deserve to all lose because they have shown there is no difference between the parties.

So TRUE!
Weak kneed, milk toast Dem's can't fight their way out of a paper bag.
What we'll get is a POS bill full of favors and loopholes a Whale can swim through. And for all of these half measures, Repukes make it seem like the end of the world. Imagine if we were to get real reform. But alas that can only come from real reformers.

Perhaps, the stimulus should have written by those most knowledgeable and experienced in the art of "job creation".
Garnering trust and support is a key component to any long term political success.

We Democratic supporters have a message for these seniors...go back home! You're candidate got clobbered last year. We won and have the right to govern. If you don't like it, you can leave this country because elections have consequences. You're not getting any sympathy for your walkers, wheelchairs, cains and resporators! We won, you lost so deal with it!

Come on. It isn't fair to make me laugh at the imagery here. I feel horrible, now. Now I'm going to have to send someone some money just to feel better about myself.

Medicare's budget goes negative in 9 years. If seniors campaign against health care for everybody else now, what kind of treatment can they expect when everybody else needs to kick in to keep Medicare going?
Oh, right, this is a Republican astroturf group, so for them it's a twofer.
