Sen. Joe Lieberman's (I-CT) office is shooting down a report in The Hill that Lieberman has reached an understanding with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to not block health care reform.
Lieberman spokesman Marshall Wittman told National Review: "Senator Lieberman's clear position is that he will vote for the motion to proceed to the health-care bill because he supports health-care reform that will control costs and insure people who don't have it now, but will oppose cloture on a final bill if it contains a public option."
We telephoned Lieberman's office for further comment, and they referred us back to the National Review post. Reid's office has not returned our request for comment at this time.

Is every photographer using a fishbowl lens to capture Joe's visage, or is he just that odd-looking?

If I lved in CT, I know what I would do to relieve myself of my hatred of JOE. Every time I had a full bag of garbage, I would go to his local offices and leave there outside the door. I would continue to do and hope others would join me...Is this productive, probsably not but I would feel better with each bag of garbage! I would like the good people of CT to demenstrate in some form or fashion what they think of a lying political acid ridden bile of a human being! Garbage for JOE!

Steve Benan says that Reid's office denies there's a deal too.
Thing is, this story is kind of the opposite of news because it presents an "all Cretans are liars" problem.
If there is a deal and Lieberman is just posturing for effect, this is what they'd say. If there's no deal, this is what they'd say. If there was a deal but Lieberman reneged because he was upset about the leak, this is what they'd say. There are simply no circumstances that don't involve sodium pentathal where they'd admit the existence of a deal if there was one and they'd only tell the truth if there wasn't.

Any deal would involve Joe Lieberman giving his word on something. Need I say more?
Even his staff would realize by this time that Joe making a "deal" is not to be taken seriously until all the bribes are counted and the self-serving accommodations are won. What a piece of work.

If this is indeed all a show by Joementum, and Harry Reid, then it is a good one because it solves a very important problem. It keeps the pressure from shifting to Blanche Lincoln and other Blue Dog Senators (I know there is no such caucus but 'Blue Dog' was the best adjective to convey my meaning). Joe's betrayal provides political cover to Blue Dog Senators while not changing Democrats' opinion of Joe Lieberman because we hate him already.
Even if Joe has already decided to vote for cloture it makes sense to come out and say he will filibuster anyway.
The question is where does Joe want to go in the future. If he filibusters he will be kicked out of the Democratic caucus. Democrats would still pass a health care bill under reconcilation. He won't be re-elected as a Democrat. He can't be elected as a Republican. Republicans won't even tolerate moderate Republicans anymore; Joe Lieberman is moderate Democrat, and a traitor. Republicans will think he is the Anti-Christ.
So, unless he is already eyeing a lobbying job, it makes no sense for Joe to filibuster this bill. It makes more sense for this the be a scam.
However, seeing as how we ALREADY KNOW that Traitor Joe is, well...., a traitor, I wouldn't put too much stock in that conspiracy theory.

To be or not to be.
That is the question, perhaps he won't be running for reelection? That means this IS a real fun time for Joe!
