As the Senate Democrats dropped their health care bill tonight, the DNC's Organizing for America is arranging asking supporters to attend an "impromptu" rally to encourage senators to back the bill.
OFA volunteers were calling Washington, D.C.-area people on the campaign mailing list tonight asking them to show at the Capitol Visitors Center at noon Thursday.
A volunteer who called TPMDC said the goal was "just to show support for reform."
Late update: This post has been updated. A Democratic source tells us it's not an official OFA event, and said volunteers have been directing supporters to Majority Leader Harry Reid's official roll out of the health care plan.

Hmmm...I wonder if Faux News will "accidentally" splice in some footage of empty streets in their report?

God the Obama campaign people are STUPID!!!
They've done NOTHING with regard to good provisions on health care reform, and now they're calling folks to support . . . what??? . . . they can't even describe it.
As the "fake Biden" pointed out on SNL, Obama just wants "anything" -- any bill, who cares what's in it -- so he can have a Rose Garden signing ceremony.
I was a strong Obama supporter, worked for him and donated to him. I am disgusted by his ineffectiveness, cozying up to Big PhARMA and the insurance companies, and general disdain for fighting for TRUE health care reform.

Well they seem to be doing more than complaining and writing comments on the internet in capital letters. Stay home, more room for dedicated people.

'I was a strong Obama supporter,"
Mauimom, if that were true, then you are one of the most fickle people I've ever not met. And you apparently do not realize the import of that signing ceremony, regardless of the word ion the bill.
The Republicans know what it means, and their corporate sugardaddies are pulling out all the stops to stop this from ever getting to the Rose Garden. That alone should be evidence enough that ANY healthcare bill represents a victory for We, The People, our entire nation, not Barack Obama personally.
Too bad so many conservatives think that all-encompassing "We" is meant for a select group of "Them." They think our nation was created for "them" to become wealthier than the day before, and the rest of us are all just second class citizens put on this Earth to work in their factories, calling rooms and feedlots..
