Here's a video recorded by TPM's Christina Bellantoni, of the Capitol Hill Tea Party crowd singing "God Bless America" in protest of the arrests of several of their compatriots, who were charged with illegally entering or disrupting the office that handles Speaker Nancy's Pelosi's duties as a Representative from California:

Here's hoping Nancy dispatches Lucca Brazi
All I can do out here is to respond to HCAN's latest blast and forlornly hope that Kleefeld takes it to the streets

13 stories, 11 of them on this "rally".
Why?

If there is anything "productive" whatsoever about this (and I'm trying hard to find), those reports here or everywhere can serve as our good ad materials for 2010 and 2012.
Otherwise, it's just depressing (and to repeat myself, I don't find this whole Buchmann & co. thing even remotely funny anymore).

I don't get TPM's fixation with this event. Some coverage, sure. But at this volume?
And the snide headlines, to boot?

I know, the same pain here. As for the headlines... yeah, and some exclamation marks, too. The original "The Storming Of The Hill Begins" post ended with an exclamation mark (i.e., "... Begins!"), actually, which really turned me off. Was it just me? Very disappointing.

It is disappointing. Josh are you listening. If we want this kind of coverage we can go to Huffington Post. We are here because we don't like Huffpo so enough of this stupidity please.

I absolutely love that the teabaggers don't know the lyrics to God Bless America. Stand beside her, and guide her with the light...from the light...from above.
God Bless our Right Wingers. Nuts that I love. Shout out loudly, stand proudly, racist signs, nonsense whines, scream and shove.

I love that they think they are the only people who love their country. Somehow singing 'God Bless America' is assumed to annoy the left; apparently they really do believe that we are communists who hate America.

Can someone go interview some of these fruitcakes and ask them some questions about what they think is actually in these bills? I'll bet fewer than 1% actually know what they're protesting and a majority think they'll turn Grandma into Soylent Green.

Ask the teabagger on the rooftop. Ask the teabagger in the woodpile. Ask the teabagger that's singing at your back door.

Gosh, when I first read that headline, I said to myself hey, if I was there watching the Teabaggers getting arrested, I would have been singing God Bless America too!

Well, this is what democracy looks like - and sounds like. Not very organized. The most incredible moment was John Boehner waving a copy of the Constitution and declaring to the crowd he was going to quote it, then quoting the Declaration of Independence. Pathetic when a leader of a major party in Congress doesn't know one founding document from another. No wonder the country was going straight to hell under Republican rule.
